Okay so there was a point in the middle of the book I questioned what was the point. I get why. There needed to be connection. Loved it wasn‘t a romance.

Read this one on lunch yesterday as my foray into graphic novels continues. I don‘t typically read WW2 bc they tend to be too sad for me. This is a GN of an actual novel and was just the right way for me to consume an important story. I didn‘t know anything about Dita and I‘m glad I read it.
4.5⭐️ I really liked this book. Felt it was a bit too slow in places. I would recommend this book to people who like historical fiction and want to read more books that take place pre and post #WWII. Also for fans who like #lgbtqai+ themes. #2025 #historicalfiction #fiction #literaryfiction

I wish that this #ScottishBook had won the vote for last month‘s #bookclub meeting! Set during WWII, Ellis & Maddie are a married couple more intent on fun than the war effort. Their drunken frivolities get them banned from the family & so with flat-footed Hank, they make their way from New England the Loch Ness in the midst of the war! This proves eye-opening for Maddie who finds that Scotland helps her see the truth about herself & her marriage.
I will not call this "Aligator anything", no this is Donald's Dachau...the 1st concentration camp established by the Nazi's. They were so proud of their 1st concentration camp that they would have sold merch if they could have too.
If you're feeling hopeless, overwhelmed and like you have no control over any of this...remember calling it what it is , a concentration camp is resistance. Joy is resistance, knowledge is resistance. Resist
The Last Secret Agent: My Life As A Spy Behind Nazi Lines by Pippa Latour and Jude Dobson
Genre: Non-fiction
POV: Author Pippa Latour
Location: Early years: South Africa and years in World War II: France
Rating: 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved this book! Pippa Latour was the last secret agent in WWII. Yes she was a woman. Yes there were women secret agents behind enemy lines in France and were in many dangerous situations. This is an absolute Must Read.
“There was gray everywhere.”
WWII HF dual timeline with intriguing subplots. Love, betrayal, holocaust, mystery ….
