I rarely read rom-com books but this came up on Libby audio, many laugh out loud moments, a good plot and I liked the different pov from Anna and Liam , good ending oh and you can‘t have a good rom-com without some 🌶️😉

Definitely my favorite from Christina Lauren that I‘ve read. It was fake dating without the drawn out “but is it real?!” And it gave such a fun wealthy island fantasy, while reminding you what is so icky about extreme wealth.
I thought both characters were well realized & while the beginning of the romance is so (so) quick, it turns out I really love a lengthy epilogue.
So well done. I‘m sure I‘ll read it again.
CLo will forever be my favs! I absolutely devoured this book, like I have every other one of their works I‘ve read. Anna and Liam are incredibly hot and so good to each other. This book was a very welcomed distraction from the real world and all its chaos.

This one was really hard to put down. It is a simple romance but them chapters finished in a way that I couldn‘t help just reading the next, then the next. I loved how there were so many chapters from Liam‘s POV. I also read this over a wedding weekend which definitely added to my perspective of the story. The 🌶️ scenes were pretty realistic, and although simple, the story does know where to hit your emotions. Highly recommend to romance readers!
Anna is an artist who married Liam Weston for subsidised housing when at uni. She finds out she is still married to him three years later. Liams financial security is tied up in an old family contract which says he must be married for five years to receive his inheritance. Liam has to take his ‘wife‘ to meet his family. Anna agrees but doesn‘t want to become part of their toxic world of wealth.
A great blend of high tension and family dramas.
Someone told me that this book had some of the best sex they‘d ever read. That‘s all I needed to know to go and borrow the book. The sex was fine, nice, ok. I‘ve read sexier. But I did really like the story (rich guy, fake marriage), the setting (private island), and the main characters (an artist and and professor)💕
It‘s been wet and windy all day so thought I‘d armchair travel to somewhere hot! #newbook
My first book of the year.
Pros: Likeable characters, and ideal if you are looking for a light read.
Cons: Predictable, and a bit repetitive.
I really enjoyed this one. The premise of fake marriage has been done so much, but it was still really cute and fun. I loved the spice and thought the story line still managed to have a fresh take. Funny and good romance. Definitely a fun and light read.
I love reading about entitled mean rich people. This one has a great love story to go with it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Christina Lauren books are always a fun, quick audiobook listen. If you‘ve read one Christina Lauren book they all follow a similar pattern. Just fun books to listen to while doing things like chores or working on puzzles.
Another day, another sneaking off for beer and a book. Plus my new fave shirt (it‘s so soft)
Ending the month with a romance. Starting this one today. Seemed fitting as we are having unusually hot weather for the end of September here.
A fun summer read! Very funny and some steam, but there‘s also some depth. Of all the Christina Lauren books I‘ve read (and I haven‘t read them all) I think this one is my favorite!
#bookspinbingo - got a 4th bingo!
🥰🥹 one of my favs from CL! This was such a fun book. I wasn‘t Anna‘s biggest fan at the beginning & thought it was so great to have the dual perspective because I really enjoyed Liam. At the end, they were perfect together and completely stole my heart. Another win!
Trope laden but still quite fun. Fake marriages, billionaires, billionaires who are also awful, sparky young kids - it doesn‘t set itself up to be classic literature but tells a the tale well. I liked the protagonist who takes no crap and doesn‘t buy into her makeover to make her a worthwhile person which I appreciated. I suspect I won‘t remember this in 6 months but enjoyed for a few hours in the sunshine

It was fine, closer to meh. I liked the spunky main character, the issues that came up with the turd brother, her relationship with her dad, and forced proximity. I found that I‘m over billionaires (even the “good” ones), falling into the posh lifestyle, and some of the writers‘ writing choices. I have lots of books to read before I‘ll pick up another of theirs, but I‘m not saying it‘s a never… 🤷🏼♀️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5
The best Christina Lauren so far! 💚💖
This book was SO cute and funny! What a great summer read!
What a fun summer read! I am a total sucker for fake relationships that inevitably turn into something more. With a beautiful Indonesian island backdrop, Anna just has to convince her husband-of-convenience‘s family that their marriage is real. With alternating perspectives, I couldn‘t put this one down! It was so fun! I love this writing duo & I laughed out loud and just had a great time reading this!! It may not always be plausible but it‘s fun!
A cute romance to read either at the beach or while on vacation.
This was a cute rom-com, exactly what I‘ve come to expect from Christina Lauren. The premise is very silly (a marriage of convenience during college leads to unintended consequences 5 years later) and some of the plot contrivances did make me roll my eyes (one of the love interests just happens to come from a family of billionaires), but it was entertaining and the developing romance worked for me.
So good!! The main characters were great and intense. Could not put it down! It is a great spicy but predictable read!!
Two of my favorite things, books and my baby girl. She is 13 which is old for a bulldog so I‘m taking advantage of all her snuggles. Beautiful cover to put you in the summer mood. Fun fact I learned that Christine Lauren is actually 2 writers 🤯
If you‘re looking for a summer vibes romance this is a perfect fit! While I‘ve never been a huge romance fan there‘s just something about a Christina Lauren novel that I just can‘t resist. The characters are funny and flawed and the story arc heartfelt if predictable. It was the perfect pallet cleanser for me! 🌟🌟🌟🌟💫
A very fun, quick summer read. Far fetched and Cinderella-esque, but sweet and fun, did I say fun yet? What could go wrong with a “collaborators with benefits” agreement? There are some VERY steamy sex scenes, especially at the end… Book #58 in 2024
It's a fake dating with rich people family drama and unrealistic rom-com story :)
It's a well-balanced story that leaves you smiling. Perfect summer vibes :)
Is this my favorite CLo novel ever? Maybe! The romance between Anna and Liam was sweet and spicy and I loved the Succession-like setting complete with terrible family members, financial intrigue, and a private tropical island. The perfect summer read! #20in4 @Andrew65 #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks
Audacious setting and narcissistic father but I enjoyed the main characters.

Entertaining enough, just formulaic and not much of a spark to set it apart. 🎧
Barnes & Noble Memorial Day sale was worth the trip! Double rewards points and much of the store on sale.
This was a super fun romance to read! I am going to have to read more by these two friends. #botm
Book 26 of 2024
This is a fun summer rom com that is ridiculous and unlikely but made me smile anyway. 4⭐️
Bailing at 20%, not for me. Cringed on every other page.
If you are in the mood for an ‘I feel so high school every time I look at you‘ type of romance where it‘s all forward motion and any controversy is noise outside the HEA couple‘s doing, this is the book for you. It‘s a story as cute as its cover!
Hm. 18% in and I‘m getting too many eye-roll moments. Should I persist, or drop it…
Nope, don‘t like it. Don‘t say lol in a book (that‘s not in a text convo). I‘m not here for that.
These are my MAY BOTM picks. What did you get?..
A fun summer romance that I highly recommend! Some of my fav tropes - fake relationship, second chance, slow burn! The Christina Lauren writing duo always deliver great romances that are fun and have something to say at the same time. I loved the family nature of this book, showing both the good and bad sides of families, something that all readers can relate to. The book is funny, touching, sweet, and filled with the intelligent banter.

I‘m filling out different brackets to see if the different layouts garner different results.

I read 7 good books, 1 meh book & this fabulous book last week!
Christina Lauren has done it again! 💙💙
So good! It was fun and funny. I laughed out loud multiple times and reread some passages just because they were so entertaining. Christina Lauren brought the spice, too.
A destination wedding, an 🤬 dad, a messed up family dynamic and a fake (ish) marriage.
