Okay read, but it was HIGHLY predictable.
Decided to bail on this one at 50%. The story is getting a little predictable and I‘m not invested anymore.

Still pollen deep in spring but sunny day felt right for flip flops and a beach read.

Wyatt broke Sam's heart 12 years ago since when she hasn't seen him but this summer she takes her fiancé to her family's beach house - and Wyatt is there too.
Ch 24; still haven't got to the reason for their break-up. Looks suspiciously like Sam's family is throwing them together in spite of the fact that she & Jack are looking for a wedding venue.
I liked the flashbacks more than the present day, but the overall story was a fun one to follow. Very cute and predictable, and her fiancé was ??
I enjoyed it. But I felt like it could have used a bit more in the end to just unfold better. Anyway overall I would say “pick” but closer to the “so-so” part of it.

I‘ve got a few marigolds still blooming, but most of my “summer” flowers have stared to wilt and give up the Oklahoma days to the fall.
This is on its way to you @ElizaMarie While I enjoyed it, I think it fell short of being a pick for me. Without saying too much, there was just something in the tone of the relationships that didn‘t fully work for me. But I think it was still a fun read, and I enjoyed the characters. #lmpbc #groupr
One more week of “summer” and I‘m excited to start this #lmpbc #groupr pick to close it out! Also, SO EXCITED for blanket weather in the back yard! I love summer, but fall is my jam! 🍂🍁 Not really for the spookies, but for the blankets & cooler weather & coffee drinking & football. 🩵💛🤎
On a fishing vacation in Canada and not getting as much reading time as I‘d like. Also as you can see- the air is trying to kill me here too. Hubs went out for 2 hrs with the camp owner and left me in peace to read a bit. Loved this #lmpbc from @Hazel2019 ! Fun, quick, and all the warm fuzzies.

I enjoyed this book. It had good pacing and enjoyable characters. Plus who wouldn‘t want to spend all summer at the beach?!
This was a nice light romance. Well written and likeable characters. A little sweet home Alabama in its premise but no complaints there.
In case my fourth book in two days isn‘t hint enough I have come away on my own to try and decompress from a tough year. My current reading isn‘t very challenging but it is charming and therapeutic. Every time I read one of these unusual family in their second home on Long Island books it makes me want to go !#pantone2023
Gave me 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' trilogy (Jenny Han) epilogue feelings. Closed door second chance romance with the summer house boy next door.
Up next! I loved Nora Goes Off Script, so I‘ve been looking forward to this release!

It took me about a third to get into this, but I am so glad I stuck with the teen love drama because it brought me back. I loved the characters so much I wanted to be a casting director. Sam is Julia Styles in my mind. Her mom has to be Bonnie Bedalia (mom from Parenthood). Who is Wyatt though? (Also yeah my casting might be outdated 😉)
I'm kinda loving puzzling the #Aardvark music clues! Here's my guess for this one based on the songs. The MC is engaged but runs into her first love (Teenage Dream), and starts worrying she'll catch feels again (Feelings Show, August, Dial Drunk, and the song about avoiding "The Street You Live On"). And as a romance fanatic it doesn't feel like a stretch that she might be thinking he was The 1 that got away (the swifty in me loves that clue)?
Sam dreads going back to the beach with her family…she keeps thinking back to the summer she was sixteen, when the boy next door broke her heart. A surprise awaits her at the beach 14 years later…
This is a good summer read, but I also got a bit annoyed with Sam‘s behavior. She grows a lot in this book, but I also felt I could never quite connect with her. I liked Brittany Pressley‘s narration but Dan Bittner‘s narration fell flat for me.
Short and sweet with summertime romance… made me think of a simpler time and to yearn for the days of endless sun and no responsibilities!
⭐️⭐️💫
Short and sweet with trusty summer romance tropes. I just found it a bit bland.🎧
Second chance romance, childhood friends to lovers, guitar playing love interest, relatable characters, and all in a beautiful beach setting that makes this the perfect summer read. Throw this in your beach bag and enjoy!! 5/5
