So I am re-reading the Outlander series because I got all of the physical books now, until she releases a new one. I love this book a lot. It is one of my favorite series ever!!!! I rated this book a 5 out of 5 stars!!!

Not quite what I was expecting from the description I was expecting a romance in the style of Good Night Sweetheart where there was actually some difficulty choosing between lovers and between times but this was not that at all.
Also what are we supposed to think of men? It felt like every other man was a rapist. There is rape, attempted rape and then male rape just to top things off and then throw in a side of torture just for fun.
The author advertises this as a romance fiction novel, but there is more inappropriate sex stuff than romance. Claire has lots of panic attacks about r*** thatmakes the book too hard to read. My friends say to give this book up for real romance books that don‘t have unwanted sexual content. There was also a scene where a child got mutilated as corperal punishment for stealing. I should have bailed on this book sooner.
Hey this is pretty good. They should write 7 more and maybe make a tv show. People would flip.
omg I can‘t believe they are forcing her to marry Jamie! He said it himself that he is poor. She prefers him as a close friend, but nobody listens. I feel bad for her. She‘s probably still pissed about him almost cutting her with his showing off of sword fighting!
It was time to re-visit this book and it did not disappoint. I love the inner dialog, the historical details, the character descriptions and just the amazing amount of thought that went into this book and the series.

All I have to say is: James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser. ❤️❤️❤️

Outlander by Diane Gabaldon (tagged) is my favorite letter "O" book. There are a lot of books that could easily be my favorite. They are:
One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid
On the Island by Tracey Garvis Graves
The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman
Obsidian by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson
This was one heck of a nail-biting, page turning epic! I'm not normally one for chunksters or series but Diana Gabaldon has me hooked. 🥴
Don‘t mind me… I‘M JUST FREAKING OUTTT!! They are developing a prequel on the life and love of Jamie‘s parents! 🥹🥹🥹🥹 Oh em geeeee!

Finishing this book felt like an accomplishment, it was good and kept me engaged, but it just kept going! The romance was sweet for the most part. While being historically accurate, it is not what we may see today after "me too". The historical politics and time travel aspects were interesting and fun also. I enjoyed it and I will continue on with the series. ✨️

I finally reached the halfway point of this book over the weekend. So far so good 👍
I had broken this one up as two pics on my bookspin list and it was picked as my Doublespin pick. I'm going to just read on and finish this up this month!
⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was not expecting to like this book as much as I did. Plus I have no idea why because the subject matter is NOT cozy (trigger warnings for rape and attempted rape), but I felt this whole cozy atmospheric vibe going while I read...like I was wrapped up in a plaid blanket in front of a fireplace, sipping coffee while a light misty rain falls outside. 🤷
I should be shocked 😯 to read the outlander books have been banned in schools / colleges in Florida, but then again with the awful 😣devastating news of the abortion ban & a woman‘s rights to her own uterus being taken away im not that surprised 😲 what craziness are the politicians & authoritarians imposing on the states 🤷♀️🤦🏼♀️
Someone hold my coffee while I rush to add all the remaining books of the series to my TBR. I'm invested now! 😆
I can't even with myself. Can we just say "nerd" and be done with it?! ??
Back to it. And I must say, this quote sums up my whole reason for finally reading Outlander. It always seemed "cozy" to me for some reason. So far, it kind of is. (Also...library downloads are so weird with page numbers. 1,869 pages?! Please!! It's hefty enough at 850! ?)

I picked a #DNF title from each of my TBR stacks: Outlander I have on my Kindle & have tried several times to get through it & have never made it past 10%-it just annoys me 🤷🏻♀️ 1Q84 is in my physical #TBR & I think it‘s both too long & too smart for me.🤔 Resistance in my Audible TBR puts me to sleep even though I 💛Tori Amos.😵💫 Finally, I have been at 70% of The Mysteries of Udolpho on Serial Reads for a couple of years now.⬇️
This lived up to all the hype! The audiobook was amazing….I found myself listening almost all day and finding any excuse to be able to continue. I had heard that the history was really heavy handed but I didn‘t find that to be the case. I thought it was a really nice mix of history, drama, and romance. I‘m so excited to continue the series! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The plot is episodic, very Quixote-esque. It‘s one damn thing after another, and a lot of traipsing from place to place to escape whatever trouble they‘ve gotten themselves into. They still manage to make time for plenty of sex, though, naturally. It‘s not a closed door romance, but the door isn‘t wide-open either – it certainly wasn‘t as steamy as I was expecting. 600+ pages- every book in the Outlander series ✅ (more like 800+ pages, which is precisely why I‘m stuck on book #4 for 6+ months…) #bookmoods
Okay then. I'm nervous, but I've put off reading this long enough. Here I go. 😬
I've never watched the show and I put off reading this for years because I am not a fan of romance heavy stories.
I found myself really enjoying the historical aspects of this story. The descriptions of the setting were some of my favorite parts. I liked a lot of the characters and overall the writing was well-done. However, the dynamics between Jamie and Claire felt too "Insta-love" and controlling for me.

On this tvtime app I have, someone actually commented that reading the outlander books were "cheating" lmao I find this very amusing. I feel like watching the show is cheating??

Who got a chance to watch the show?! They did a fantastic job! Poor Marsali.. I want to tan Fergus‘s hide! 😡 I‘m not sure how I feel about Claire self medicating at the end, doesn‘t seem very in character. But I think the Christie‘s were casted perfectly. What did y‘all think about it?!?
It‘s been a while since I read this. I‘d forgotten how much happens in this first book. So much. I like the world of outlander, the.characters, the story.
Loved this! As someone who entered the Outlander world through the show first (and watched the series several times 😬), I risked not liking the book as much because I don‘t like changing plots or characters I already have in my mind. Not a problem with this! I welcomed every difference, and the writing was excellent - beautifully descriptive but not so complex as to slow it down. Can‘t wait to read the next one!
#JANUARY2022 recap has me firmly planted in a re-read of Outlander, having recently binged the Netflix Series. And this time so far this reads differently. And has actually given me an interesting evaluation of myself, as I have changed and adapted through the years… I even understand more the 🔺fate of Claire‘s life. And the pressure. #outlander continues. #historialfiction #romance #timetravel 📚❤️
3.5 stars. Good historical fiction about a woman who time travels to 1743 Scotland. I enjoyed the historical details about clothes, weapons, laundry, laws, etc. Written 30 years ago, and some of the man/woman dynamics and choices by Claire, the protagonist, are a little hard to swallow, but still an engaging love story. Contains torture but not as much as, say, that GOT show.

1. I‘m into genealogy so I‘d like to go back in time to meet my ancestors, starting with my grandmother who died when Mom @Doll8455 was young. She was 100% Swiss, brilliant, spoke 5 languages. I‘d like to meet Mom‘s brother, Fox, who died in a tragic accident a few years later. And I‘d love to meet the loads of notable ancestors. Then I‘d jump forward to see if I have any great great grandkids!

I really enjoyed this book. It has romance, Scotish history and family lineages, drama, adventure and a little bit of fantasy. Really, it has everything a reader would want in a book. Such a fast-paced book, and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Lynn This was a delightful surprise! You are always so thoughtful ❤️❤️❤️❤️thank you so much 😘😘😘
Well, I gave up! If I hadn't watched the show 5 times...I probably could've finished it. So, I need to know where to start reading. I've watched 5 seasons so I guess book 6???
After binge-watching the series on Netflix, I realized that a re-read of this series would be a good way to kick off 2022. My copy is an odd-ball, but I love it. Wherever I found it, it got me into this world. The rest are waiting to be savored as I progress. #bookworm #reread #outlander #romance #timetravel #epicstorytelling 🥰❤️📚
This is really hard to say! I read mostly fantasy so if someone isn't interested in that I'm kind of at a loss, but here are some I know I tell people to read.

We got a good ol‘ snowstorm today, so I‘ve settled in with a warm (decaf) coffee, a fuzzy blanket, and the first book in my #Outlander2022 read. ☕️
A friend of mine gave me books 2-5 last year, so my goal is to read one a month in 2022 to catch up on the series. I‘m only to chapter 3 and I‘m already obsessed with Gabaldon‘s writing. 🥰
