My recent book haul books from birthday, Mother‘s Day and the last day of school. 🥰
May 10, 2025 YASSS I reached my goal of finishing the book! 2 day record. I read the book in almost 2 whole sittings... I read majority of the book yesterday and the rest of it today. Thriller by Freida McFadden is NEVER a miss. She starts out right away with the main character and what happens to them. Then she adds new characters along the way. In between she tries to tease the reader and make the reader think who is guilty. 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
May 9, 2025 Will Tegan be able to reach a hospital in time for her baby to be born?? She is eight months pregnant and can hardly move around comfortably. She has asked Polly WHEN she can leave for the hospital and Polly says the same thing over and over. Is Hank making her say the same thing to Polly by promising her but then tricking her??? I hope Tegan does not die in their basement that is so dark and cold
May 9, 2025 continued... Tegan accepts Hank helping her and Hank tells her that his wife can also help out. His wife is a nurse and ends up helping to take care of Tegan. Hank carries her down to their basement (aka dungeon) and gently places her on a hospital bed. He also gets some blankets for her since it is quite cold. Tegan is in a lot of pain from the pregnancy and swollen foot that she asks Polly for some pills but decides to not take them
May 8, 2025 Began reading this book as my next TBR and it got me hooked! Got me hooked!! Man. From the prologue to now, sigh, scary things are happening. First, a young girl named Tegan who is 8 months pregnant is trying to get to her brother's house to spend the week but she ends up in a snow storm and crashes into a tree. A truck driven by a man named Hank, picks her up and brings her to his cabin up in a mountain. The snow gets heavier and cold
The Crash exceeded my expectations. As the story unfolded, it became increasingly suspenseful. I particularly enjoy Freida‘s writing style, which allows the reader to experience the story from each character‘s perspective. The ending was perfect—very sweet and tender. It wasn‘t what I‘ve come to expect from Freida, so I thoroughly enjoyed this unexpected twist to her creativity.

4-26-25: My 29th finished book of 2025! Tegan has found herself pregnant and alone, with only the help of an attorney, Jackson, who is trying to facilitate a binding monetary contract with the man she had a one night stand with. When Tegan makes some harsh realizations, she decides to visit her brother to regroup. After a terrible crash, Tegan is rescued by Hank and Polly, but things don‘t turn out the way she would have hoped. ⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣2️⃣9️⃣
The more and more I think about this book. The more i like it.
I was very "meh" about it at first. Too predictable and all of the characters are very unlikeable. But McFadden really weaved some stuff in there that had me revisiting it for a couple days after finishing.
Not like her other books - it wasn't my favorite of hers, but it was certainly done quite well.

This was my least favourite book of Freida McFaddens but I did start and finish it in a day 🤣 I found it felt predictable and some parts felt unnecessary. I still love her as an author tho 😂🥰
3/1/25 read this in less than a week! Enjoyed this book 8/10 suspenseful
She did it again, threw in twists at the end that you don‘t see coming! A little Cathy Bates Misery type craziness. I read this in less than 24 hours. Book #18 in 2025
2.5⭐While her books are bingeable, I‘m unsure whether they‘re bingeable enough to make up for all the cringeable…also the unbelievable. I‘ve liked a couple by her & hated one other…looking at you, locked door. Although, I don‘t think I‘ve yet read enough of her books to form a satisfying opinion.
I‘m not a fan of LeslieHoward‘s narration. She might‘ve been okay if she had only been Polly‘s narrator and had other narrators for the different POVs.⬇️
I wasn‘t impressed.
What could have been a decent story disappeared a third way in. Not very likable characters.
If you‘re in the mood for a time-waster read this would be it.
⭐️⭐️ I‘ve heard McFadden rips off ideas, but this is the first one I actually noticed. And I didn‘t care. It wasn‘t full-on nor well-done. The Crash is no Misery. McFadden is certainly no King. But that‘s not my issue. It‘s a dumb story with very rudimentary writing. Recently published, The Boyfriend, showed a larger writing range from her which I enjoyed, but this was not good. Girl is inconsistent AF. My green kindle is cute, tho.
Another book I am going to have to compare to Misery. I think Misery had a lot of inspiration for this book. It took me completely out of the story when she called her baby little tuna. Like out of all the names... or when her baby would talk to her. It was just so out of pocket. I was not surprised or thrilled at all. I thought everything was very obvious. This just wasn't very good 😕 2/5
I‘ve read a lot of Freida McFadden‘s books and have loved every single one. This one, however, was almost a complete dud. I almost DNFd it several times, but I like to finish what I start. The twist at the end is the best part of the book, and that‘s just meh. Read at your own peril.
I usually love Freida‘s books but this one was just ok to me. The 2 main characters were ridiculously annoying & it dragged a bit in the middle. Freida always has great twists but this one was kind of predictable & fell a little flat. 3⭐️

4 Stars • Yet another fantastic thriller by McFadden. "The Crash" by Freida McFadden is about Tegan, who's pregnant and trying to escape her problems by driving to her brother's. She crashes in a snowstorm in Maine and gets rescued by a couple. But things get creepy; she suspects they're not good people, leading to a tense, twisty tale of survival and suspicion.

I‘m starting to think Freida McFadden might not be for me. Her stories aren‘t bad, there‘s just ok. I really enjoyed The Boyfriend but the rest have been predictable. This is no different. I kept waiting for the big shocks, and there was one toward the end, but by that point I didn‘t care. I found the main characters annoying and kind of dumb and was kind of disappointed when it was over. Will that keep me from reading more? Probably not 🤣 🌟🌟🌟
Tegan is eight months pregnant, alone, and desperately wants to put her crumbling life in the rearview mirror. So she hits the road, planning to stay with her brother until she can figure out her next move. But she doesn‘t realize she‘s heading straight into a blizzard.
She never arrives at her destination.
I love Freida, but this one was disappointingly slow. 😿 Not her best.
