Another solid addition to the series. My reading across the board has slowed down in ways. I‘ve got a stack of books on the go and I‘m dipping in and out of them all. As a result, there are some character names and minor details in this series that I‘m starting to forget. To combat that, I started keeping a note on what happens in each of the volumes, which is helpful. Not much else to say. Great writing and arresting visuals as usual.

TieDyeDude This was probably my least favorite volume so far. I binged the first seven volumes. This was the first one I had to wait to be released, and I remember having the same thought that it was a little harder to follow. Still great, just a little less great 😉 2mo
psalva @TieDyeDude Ah, that makes sense! I didn‘t put two and two together that this was the one after the break. That must have really been a dramatic cliffhanger! I‘ve got volume nine out from the library and I think 10,11 on hold and then I should be caught up (I think…). 2mo
TieDyeDude I had to wait for volume 8 just because of when I started reading. The break came after volume 9 (you'll see). But, yes, Volume 11 is the newest 2mo

For a story arc that revolves around an abortion planet, it ends on a surprisingly sweet note. But, as always, more perils await our ragtag band of heroes.

I liked the Wild West theme of this volume, but I feel like this one is a weaker volume due to the fact there's not a lot of story covered in it, and it felt slow.

There's still good moments within this volume, but not on par with previous volumes.

It was a quick read before they head on their next adventure, and I'm curious to see what happens next and how relationships develop.

TieDyeDude Agreed. This was my last favorite volume, but the worst stories in Saga are still better than most stories out there 😅 11mo

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

SAGA is one of the best ever graphic novels aside from the Sandman of course. I honestly cannot believe how much they can pack into each volume.

The characters, the story, the monsters, the creativity and wow, the social commentary is brilliant! Whoever would have thought of Dung Monsters lol!

Some of the best characters are the Robots and their square TV heads which use pictures to show emotions. Love that!

Have I mentioned lately how much I fucking love this series? Glad to see this is one of the volumes that ended on a high note. Appreciate that it tackled reproductive rights. The found family vibes keep growing!

Surprising turn in the storyline. Fast paced graphic novel with engaging characters who‘s storylines all seem to weave together. Looking forward to the next volume! Sometimes graphic novels are a fun break from other kinds of reads.

It‘s been too long since I spent time in this world. I‘m always impressed by how incredibly original it is. No other universe has characters, relationships, twists and turns like this. I can‘t wait to learn more about that cliffhanger! That was…not at all what I was expecting. #90graphicdays

This one was an absolute blast to read. 7&8 have completely sucked me back in. They included conversations about bodies and how everyone should be able to do and be what they want. I appreciate this one because it has some of those deeper conversations you need to have in life. Also developed a soft spot for Prince Robot

I‘ve been trying to slow down on this series. I want it to last as long as possible!
But what can I say I already started with the final volume…

With each volume I think I know what might come next. But every time I‘m astound by actual events, never quite being able to pushing my imagination to the extent of Braian‘s.
I can‘t wait to see how it all ends!

This volume covers six single issues and the first three are about abortion rights.

Though I happen to agree with BKV on this issue, it nonetheless felt very heavy-handed.

Still, poignant moments and surprises in this *graphic* GN.

1. At least once, usually twice!

2. Currently 40 (that includes children's books for my daughter who left her card at home!)

3. All print at the moment (fiction, poetry, memoirs, and cookbooks)

4. No, I always renew my books online and on time.

5. eight; six books and two movies

6. Saga Vol. 8 (tagged) I'm four people away now, I've been waiting three months!

monalyisha Thanks for playing! And for being a devoted (& responsible!) library user. 💕💖 I weirdly don‘t have anything on-hold right now with a long waiting list. I‘m sure I‘ll realize in a little bit that I‘ve forgotten about something & end up number 136 in the queue. 😆 5y
Weaponxgirl I‘m only allowed to get 15 items out at a time, not including ebooks. I‘m so jealous! 5y
kyraleseberg @monalyisha That happens to me on a regular basis 😂 I forget about a new release and by the time I pull it up online there's the 100+ wait! 5y
kyraleseberg @Weaponxgirl oh wow, I never leave with less than 15! That includes kid's books too though. Our limit is 50 items per card and with 3 library card holders in our house there are usually about 60 library items under our roof on a regular basis. 5y

I didn't like this one as much as the last volume, but, I mean, it's still Saga. I was bored by the pro-life/choice and abortion stuff, which just felt like Vaughan trying to be edgy and failing. Also the Wild West theme didn't do much for me. But, we got to see Ghus again, who is one of my favourite characters! ("Ghus will cut you deep"). And Petrichor is always so badass and fun: I especially liked her asking the universe for someone to fuck.

Took me long enough to get around to reading this, but happy I did finally. It was awesome like the earlier books. Now on to book 9.

Eyelit I love this series!! I‘ve been putting off reading 9 because I know I won‘t get any more for at least a year (series is currently on hiatus) 😫 - but I‘ll probably crack and read it sooner rather than later 5y
monkeygirlsmama @Eyelit Hiatus?! No!! Ugh that sucks; I was just getting ready to look to see when the next release date was too. Booo 5y
Eyelit Yeah, it‘s a total bummer... but both the Vaughn and Staples are working on a lot of other projects so I‘m thinking they‘re taking a break from this to finish those up so they can come back and focus on Saga? Idk. I just know I‘ll probably go through withdrawal at some point next year 🤪 5y
