I have very mixed feelings about this book. I love architecture and World Fairs, but I wasn‘t the biggest fan of The Devil in the White City. It was good, it just took me a while to read because of the other books I read at the same time as it and because of that the pacing of the book was a bit off.

3.5/5 ⭐️
(I finished this around a week ago but just never got around to posting about it)

I absolutely loved this book! It was a great, action-packed #diversereads with beautiful writing. Now I need to wait all the way to June before the next book in the series is released.

I managed to read 4 books this January... I wish I could have read more, but 4 is still a pretty good start! I am also halfway done with both Children of Blood and Bone and The Devil in the White City.

“The sky was a dying fire, embers turning to ash, as night settled quietly over the great Kalahari.”

Well, this was a fun, action-packed quick read! I read the other two books in this series around a year ago, and I was hesitant to pick this one up, but I ended up enjoying the plot and overall story.

Looking back at 2018, I‘m pretty proud about how many books I was able to read. For 2019, my goal is going to be 41 books. Of course I would love to read more than 41, but as long I make improvement on how much I read this year, I‘m happy with that! Happy New Year‘s Eve!

I just finished Wildcard by Marie Lu! It wasn‘t my favorite book ever (but it was still good!) and I liked the first book in its duology better. Now time to read Paper Towns by John Green!

Overall, I liked Insurgent more than the previous book in its series. I found the political drive of Insurgent very interesting, and though there was less action than in Divergent, I still thought that it had the appropriate amount of action for balancing the plot.
