Ok I must officially be in my sappy era because I loved this book. #aardvark did it again by introducing me to a genre and author I never would have tried and I am all the happier for it. Definitely picking up the next book by this author.

This book snagged me because I wanted to figure out the mystery but ultimately was a very anticlimactic, depressing end. I think the ending was meant to be hopeful but honestly left me concerned. I didn‘t like this #aardvark pick.

Another #aardvark backlog book complete. I did not like these people. In the beginning I even debated that it would be a DNF. That said these entitled Gen Z‘ers got what was coming to them.

This is a cute murder mystery with characters I‘ll likely follow in their adventures at the Pinnacle. My #aardvark backlist is getting smaller, don‘t know why I never get picked for their surveys and BOTY voting but here‘s hoping this helps since I‘ve been a member since their start.

This was definitely a strong start to a series and man what an ending. Lou‘s sarcasm and wit made this book.

I couldn't put this one down and absolutely loved the MC's sarcasm. It's been a bit of time since I enjoyed a thriller as much as I did this one.

Call me crazy but this book about serial killers who fall in love has endearing characters who you root for. Some crazy trigger warnings…and it will possibly cause you to skip cookies and cream ice cream for a bit 😝 IYKYK. Spicy and fun and definitely up for book 2. #BOTM

This was such an intriguing mix of murder mystery, eco terrorism and VanderMeer-esque ecological anomalies. Plus beasts! Basically I‘m here to say it had it all and I loved every minute. Hope there is a book 2 so we get to see how Ana and Dinios‘ partnership flourishes.

I love SJM books so much and this one did not disappoint and I‘m honestly counting down until we get a new one. The Nesta/ACOTAR crossover was done so well. Light it up! All the stars to this one.

March #botm selections for me! I have three of the main picks already via ARCs or pre-orders so I struggled to find a main pick this month. Maybe I‘ll be pleasantly surprised by this main pick which is definitely not one I would have picked normally.

February is a 6 book month for #aardvark and #botm club boxes. Can‘t wait to read these! Aardvark continues to really impress me with their selections. If anyone is on the fence to join all I can say is I don‘t think you‘d be disappointed!

I am such a fan of SJM books; I like that this series is set in present day. This mixed murder mystery, cop procedural with fantasy and was just pure perfection in my eyes! Not as much spice in this but still plenty of romance. On to book 2 and book 3 is published this week. Spredges by my husband ❤️

I was very invested in this Michaelides‘ book and loved the twists and turns it offered. Unhinged is the first word that comes to mine. January #botm a big 👍 from me. Looking forward to his next book!

I picked my #aardvark early this morning so I could get a signed copy of Chain-Gang. That means I can give my other copy to @StephMC82 for a buddy read!

Book 1 of 2024 and I‘m afraid it was not a winner for me. This book had all the aspects that would typically hook me and not let me stop reading and yet I found myself distracted throughout this book. Overall, an ok revenge tale, but not one that will stay with me. 2.5 ⭐️

This book was an absolute delight to read. I enjoyed this one even more than the first book in the series. If you‘re in the market for a cozy mystery filled with lots of heart look no further.

This book was told from three view points with one view point being if Evelyn Hugo was a serial killer. Sounds intriguing, but ultimately it all fell flat for me. The twists I found expected and I saw the ending coming. If you‘re in the market for a fast paced thriller this is enjoyable enough. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I will read every new book that comes out in this series; I love these characters and the humor and heart they bring while solving murders. This is the 4th in the series and it was great (my heart broke for Elizabeth this time).
Book 72 of the year.

There were some good twists in this book and an overall enjoyable read. #aardvark pick
Book 71 read this year. I‘d like to get to 80 but that may be a bit too hopeful.

The writing is not strong (at all) but I am really happy she had the opportunity to tell her story on her terms.

I really enjoyed this whodunnit that takes a critical look at British aristocracy. It‘s definitely set up to be the start of a series so I hope to revisit these detectives on their new case soon. #aardvark pick

I see a lot of anger was thrown at this book when it was released in the series but my only complaint was the length of time between Cas and Poppy getting back together was a little too long for me. Everything else was 5 ⭐️ for me!

If you told me that in 2023 I would be enjoying romantasy fiction I would have thought you lost your mind. But here we are and I‘m the one losing my mind for these types of books. Really enjoying this series so far; this was the second book in this series. I like Hawke more than the female MC.

Devoured all of these really fast and then forgot to write my review! I‘m officially a Maas convert and look forward to reading more by her. Admittedly I like ACOTAR more but this series had me fully invested it he characters to the point I mourned any losses. 5 ⭐️ reading experience.

When does Empyrean book 3 drop!?!? Not soon enough. Loved diving back in to this world and can‘t wait to do so again. 🐉

This is horror with really complex, sad themes woven throughout. I felt all kinds of things reading this, including horror. Definitely passing this on to friends to read. @StephMC82 it‘s coming to you!

I‘ve seen some mixed reviews and people noting they DNF‘d. for me this helped me through my reading slump. I really enjoyed the humor mixed with horror. An entirely creative concept and a fun read for me.

Excited for these November #aardvark picks to come my way. Admittedly I‘ve been in a reading slump. I blame it on #acotar hangover. Hopefully I snap out of it soon.

My birthday month #BOTM pick is Divine Rivals. I figured now was the perfect time to try it out. Very excited for What the River Knows! Two YA picks, I‘m surprised by myself.

Well I found a new author and I‘m hooked and excited to read the rest of this series!!

I was very excited about the premise of this book based on the synopsis, maybe I had hopes that were too high going in to my reading. Dinosaur ghosts sign me up! That said as I began reading this I really struggled to stay invested in the story. I think where I really struggled was that as I read this I couldn't stop thinking of this being a 'Dino Dana' knockoff.

As I read this book my review was going to be about how this reminded me of the great coming of age horror novels I've read and loved in the past. Then there was the twist which made it more intense and elevated the genre and THEN there was another twist that made this a horror book that will be sure to stick with me. A great novel that I plan to recommend to others.

I can‘t get over how much I loved this series. It‘s the first series (I read as an adult) that I was fully immersed in the world, completely invested in the characters, and cannot wait to read the next book. My husband made my set extra special by designing sprayed edges ❤️

Whew the 🌶️ and romance in this one was EVERYTHING. My favorite of the series so far and the one I plan to read again(which I never do). Now I join the masses anxiously waiting for book 6. I can‘t stress enough that this series gets better and better, so my suggestion is to stick with it and get through that Book 1.
