#middlegrademarch I loved this as much as the 1st one in the series. On to the last one, Beverly Right Here.
Had the house to myself for the first time in 2 months, so I did a lot of #audiocleaning today! This was such a sweet story - I loved it as much as, or maybe even more than, Raymie Nightingale.
#MagicalMay Day 16: Husband made a #feast of embutido (a carryover from Spanish tradition roughly translated to pork roll but maybe more like meat loaf of sorts) with my mother‘s recipe mostly, but with a slight twist that is uniquely his as well.
So. Amazing. DiCamillo‘s characters are so lifelike in their struggles, their fears, and their joys. It‘s what makes her stories so beautiful and unique. Did I cry? Most definitely. 2nd book out of the trilogy of The Three Rancheros. Put the 3rd on hold as an ebook with my library.
I got this ARC back in 2018 before I admitted to myself that I'm not great at keeping up with ARCs. Although it took me a while to finally read it, this sweet little middle-grade novel hit the spot today. It's a story of identity, trust, disappointment, and unwanted independence that reads like a short story. It was also a great way to start the month.

Bare-bones BuJo #bookspinbonanza list. ("Bare-bones" because I didn't do anything to prettify it.) I've already started The Office (17th on the list), but otherwise I'm going to try to stick with this order. So glad I have so many mg books on here.
@TheAromaofBooks Thanks so much for hosting!
This trilogy is growing on me. Louisiana‘s grandma takes her on a drive in the middle of night, with no expect to return. Now she must find her way home.
Chai Kitty and I finished Kate DiCamillo‘s sequel to Raymie Nightingale today. Let‘s just say one of us cried at the end. I already have my, signed by the author, copy of Beverly Right Here on deck to read next.❤️📚😻
Binging audiobooks to try and meet my 2019 reading goal. This was a pleasant surprise. I love reading about spunky girls.
This book has been on my TBR pile for a while. Looking forward to reading the sequel to Raymie Nightingale by Kate DiCamillo. ❤️📚
Can‘t find a matching edition of Raymie Nightingale and it‘s breaking my heart.

Despite the fact that Kate DiCamillo never fails to ruin my eye makeup, I will gladly continue to consume her brilliant, heartwarming stories.

I decided to try this audiobook through OverDrive. I am so glad I did because I am loving it! I read some Kate DiCamillo books with my children when they were younger & I fell in love with her writing. Even though my kids are too old for me to read to them now, I thoroughly enjoy taking in her books on my own! This book is very sweet & I imagine it‘s likely to make me cry happy tears at some point.
Do you have a favorite children‘s book author?
Absolutely loved this book! Louisiana was my favourite character in the first book of this trilogy, RAYMIE NIGHTINGALE and she is equally delightful in her own story. Looking forward to the next book in the series about Beverly.
Louisiana is abandoned (again) and needs to con her way out of trouble (again). There is humor, southern-belle tendencies, and a lot of heart. The writing is pretty simplistic.
"I said, 'What is that smell?' ... He said, ' That's cake, darling.' I liked that answer very much. I think that 'cake' is a very good word in general and that people should use it as an answer to questions more often."
Cake is always the right answer ??
Granny has always said that long silences make people uncomfortable and that sometimes they will say or do things that they would not normally say or do in order to fill up the silence. #truequote
I kept hearing good things about this juvenile fiction. It was fun and easy to listen to. Just asweet book about a young girl learning who she is.
I adored the first book (Raymie Nightingale) so much! Can't wait to dive into this one
So excited to give this to my niece. 10 is the recommended age, but I feel Everleigh is mature for her age and will be able to handle this book.
I enjoyed this myself. Sad, yes, but very well written.
"Your heart has to be involved with the music, or else there is no point."
????
I bought this for my 8 year old niece, but I am reading it first. Hoping that if I read it first we can have something to bond over, she is incredibly shy.
Kate DiCamillo is brilliant! A follow up to her Raymie Nightingale, Kate created MC 12 year old Louisiana Elefante and her "voice" is exceptional ❤️You will fall in love with her.
#readathon @DeweysReadathon Book 4 today ?
Every time I finish a DiCamillo book, I sit and think about it. I do it because I‘m sure that‘s her point behind the book. And I do it because I can‘t not think about it. This book is stupendous - love it beyond expression. I preordered this book 4 months ago and it was worth the wait. DiCamillo is a master story-teller, master writer, and master heart-wrencher. Read it. It‘s for adults or kids. Read it now. #louisianaswayhome #katedicamillo
If you share a book with someone this Fall, let it be this one.

Another emotionally charged upcoming title by children's author Kate DiCamillo. Louisiana Elefante of the Flying Elefantes is abandoned by her eccentric grandmother in the south which leads her to find her own journey through the characters that she meets. Fans will embrace this sweet story that is a spin-off of Raymie Nightingale.
A gem. The return of Louisiana to literature was the surprise I needed this summer. You are going to love it!
In line for the legend, the master storyteller, the great mixer of sadness and hope—Kate DiCamillo!
