a definite page-turner, unfortunately full of flat characters in a glorified screenplay. the ending is every movie thriller ending. relied too heavily on blackouts. interesting use of the train schedule and neighborhood layouts.

pitterpainter i might recycle my copy. no need to pass it along. 😂 @BeckyMerilatt 7y
PNWBookseller85 Lol. That good, huh? I don't want it after that review! 😂 Is this one where you can save yourself some time and just see the movie? 7y

Finally - my list for #litsyatoz reading challenge for 2017! My goal was to use books I already owned, #tbr list, and almost succeeded - I will only have to check out Quiet, Madame X, and Z for Zachariah from the library. Phew!

Anyone else watching The OA? It's so different, so interesting! It reminded me of Piercy's amazing time-travel utopian Woman on the Edge of Time. Connect. Movement. Rebel. Escape. 🌙💫☄🌌🔸🌀

Pickpick

when I saw this on the bookshop shelf in Port Townsend in early November, I remembered my friend Rebecca's eyes light up when ever she talked about Mr. Rothfuss and the world he had created. I picked up for $3.50 and it's 722 pages have held my hand for over a month. Exquisite, intricate, and fun, Dickens meets LOTR. Thank you, book friend. #buyindie #shoplocal #indiebound #seasonsreadings2016

Our homes are still are homes. Our hearts are still our hearts. I am at a loss right now. Stunned. Strong. Free. But scared. Keep shining the light. Keep being strong and free and stunning. It's all we can do.

Kimzey This has long been on my TBR list. 2y

Having sold many copies of this over the years, I knew it was going to be good. I had no idea it was going to be so good, so beautiful, sad, funny, and just the right amount of scary. It was my commute book, my bath book, my changing of the seasons book. I savored and made it last over a few weeks. The Goldfinch was one of my favorite books, but I think I loved this one even more. @penguinrandomhouse

PNWBookseller85 I loved this one too! I think I preferred Goldfinch though. But I prefer Goldfinch over almost every book. ❤️ 7y
pitterpainter I know, I know. It is a masterpiece. Maybe they'll both be my favorites while I am reading them. 😊@BeckyMerilatt 7y

While watching Jaws again this week, I noticed their boat was named ORCA. Made us wonder if there is any connection between the two marine horror films. Couldn't pass up sharing this deliciously dramatic book cover art! Found at SeaOcean Book Berth in Seattle. #buyindie #indiebound

Raining buckets outside so I decided to visit my friend Marla at SeaOcean Book Berth here in Seattle. It is a literal treasure trove of seaworthy books, including vintage gems like the one I am holding. I always find a map or two, postcards, or a nature guide I didn't know I needed. Tucked away in Fremont/Wallingford neighborhood near the fabulous Whale Wins restaurant. #buyindie #indiebound

Hiking at my favorite beach with this lovely volume of stories; ranging from Leslie Marmon Silko's 'Yellow Woman' about a mythical love triangle to the timely 'Whispers from a Dead World' by Joseph Little about a man pondering the philosophies of Aquinas. "The nature of man is determined by the eternal law, one is in accord with the eternal law by doing what is in accord with nature. When one acts contrary to nature, one is in the wrong." #NODAPL

Born Standing Up could be named Born Writing, Born Painting, Born Creative. With his classic smart, yet, modest charm, Mr. Martin's book is a guide on how to be creative, laid out from first magic trick to onscreen success. The passages about his parents are endearing and memorable. #stacked #augustphotochallenge
