I gave this book a So-So rating because of the unreliable narrator, something I don‘t care for when reading a novel. The long title fits with the authors style of long sentences. The quirky nature of the story and splashes of humor in unexpected moments kept me reading until the end.

When you're 1/3 of the way through a book and the best thing so far is the title, it's probably best to abandon it

I really wanted to like this book! I tried, but I just couldn't keep reading it. I got through chapter 7, and then just didn't want to keep reading. I love quirky characters: Ove, Britt-Marie, Don Tillman, Eleanor Oliphant... but Sam Pulsifer is in a league of his own, and I just didn't like him.👎

I'm not sure how I feel about this book yet. I like the premise of it, but the main character is driving me crazy. I'm four chapters in, so I'm going to keep reading a little further.

Lunch, however, was most certainly amazing! The culinary class at the high school where I teach makes really amazing food! Today's lunch was honey mustard grilled chicken and mashed red potatoes with mushroom gravy.

What I enjoyed most about the book is how it pokes fun at aspects of literary culture including academic analysis, Oprah-esque book clubs, Harry Potter fandom, and literary tourists.

Tried to do this without any subtitles, this was as long as I could get! It has very mixed reviews but I thought it was pretty snarky and a fun read.

The problem with a title like Arsonist's Guide to Writers' Homes in New England is that you expect something hysterical. This had its funny moments but didn't live up to the expectation I had from the title. Good story, though.
