Sam and the Firefly
Sam and the Firefly | P.D. Eastman
4 posts | 4 read
Sam the Owl and Gus the Firefly literally light up the sky in this classic Beginner Book edited by Dr. Seuss. In Sam and the Firefly, P. D. Eastman (author of Are You My Mother? and Go, Dog. Go!) introduces us to the dynamic duo of Sam and Gus, who soar through the air writing words in the night sky. But when Guss words end up causing confusion and chaos for the people on the ground, its up to Sam to help Gus write his wrongs. Originally created by Dr. Seuss, Beginner Books encourage children to read all by themselves, with simple words and illustrations that give clues to their meaning. "...provides interest, suspense and word repetition. Illustrations excellent. Recommended."--(starred) School Library Journal. From the Hardcover edition.

July 12 #SummerSpecial Firefly I saw fireflies in my backyard one night last week when I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the washroom. I stayed up and watched them for awhile, they are so pretty. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

1️⃣ Illinois.
2️⃣ Massachusetts.
3️⃣ One older sister. She‘s a big reader too, although our tastes are completely different, she mostly reads nonfiction and romance.
4️⃣ Tagged! My parents used to have cassette tapes of me reading this book out loud when I was only two-and-a-half years old. I started reading very early in life! 🤓

GreenGrl87 Thanks for playing! 😄 4y

1. local short stories of Juan Bobo because my 3rd grade teacher used to read us Juan Bobo stories and any mystery story. 2. Last books read: Krampus (I have a morbid sarcastic humor🙄, I know) & No Eres Mi Tipo (You are not my Type) a silly story. 3. Chestnut, the kind Worth Killing, 9. Scramble eggs with vegetables, hot cereals & fruits with yogurt and granola. Thanks for tagging me @DaveGreen7777 @mabell @Chrissyreadit @Avanders @JenlovesJT47

1️⃣ - Tagged! My very first book! My parents had an audio cassette of me reading this out loud at 2-and-a-half years old! 🤓
2️⃣ - “Good Omens” by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. I first read it shortly after it came out and I‘ve been quoting it for over 20 years now! 😂
3️⃣ - “And Then There Were None” by Agatha Christie! The book that made me a full fledged bibliophile! 🧐
4️⃣ - Scrambled eggs! 😋

Branwen Thanks for the tag! 😍📚💕 5y
