YA is a horrible genre for me. I know this. Yet I keep falling into their traps...
I hated the characters. How they were supposed to be best friends was beyond me, they were just boy-stealing bitches to each other. There were inconsistencies with the setting and repetitive explanations.
pickSo I own the physical copy of this book, but I‘ve already loaned it out because I absolutely love it. I was afraid that my adult brain wouldn‘t love it as much as my teenage brain, but I did. Stacy is having nightmares about her roommate‘s death and she tries to find a way to stop it from happening. Magic, best friend drama, boy drama, all the perfect things for a great YA read. Lots of readathon points = 285 points.

pickThis was an ok typical YA fantasy that takes place in a boarding school. The cool thing is that she uses playing cards instead of a tarot deck to tell the future. My partner does that.
so-soI remember reading this book when I was like 13 and I really loved it, so I tracked down a copy (you'd be surprised at how difficult it was to find one in Tucson) and finished it that same night. Wasn't quite as good as I remembered it but still has an interesting plot and it was relatively entertaining, some of the characters are frustrating though...teen me would probably give it an 8/10...present me gives it a 6/10..#teenread
