There's nothing like going to your nearby bar/wine bar alone and enjoying a good read. The first part of this book is hilarious and completely raw. Still working on finishing it...hopefully this weekend.

Cute love story. Perfect for those readers who like "The Summer I Turned Pretty" and cozy little romances. I will say the main characters could be a little annoying just because I felt like there was so much back and forth about their prospective relationship. But then again, I remember how it was to be a teenager and have super low confidence when it came to relationships. A good book for teens to read.

I think this is the 2nd or 3rd Frech novel I've read and have never been disappointed. His writing is always fast-paced and twisty. Some audiobooks I've listened to have not had the greatest performers, but the narrator for this novel was fantastic. He did a great job with differentiating between characters.

I will always be biased when it comes to reading any gothic tale. Loved this novel! Full of evil/vengeful spirits, a horrible man, history, witches, and a creepy estate. The only sad part was when it came to an end. I appreciated the headstrong heroine. I would hand this book to anyone who enjoys stories that have the potential to keep you up at night with a bit of history thrown in.

Listening to this book made me think of my granddad, who was a watchmaker. He worked as a Timekeeper for a railroad station located in my small hometown in Kentucky. At the time of his death, when he was 87, we found 5 clocks he was working on in his workshop. There was even a beautiful German cuckoo clock waiting to be delivered back to its owners. This book covered so much material but was so enjoyable. I will end up buying the hard copy.
It wasn't his style to go after girls in such an obvious way.All his life, he had never needed to chase after women. They had always given themselves freely to him, starting with his older brother's girlfriend when he was fourteen. Technically,Astrid had made the first move, so he didn't mind going after her. Andy's talk about her being 'out of his league' really irked him, & he thought it would be fun to bed her, just to shove it in Andy's face.
Gandalf wasn't trying to cuddle while I read this morning. He just wanted food.

On my run today in our neighborhood, I passed by a Little Free Library and had to take a peek. While rummaging through the shelves, I found this book and knew it was meant for me. I ended up finishing my 4 miler all while gripping my new treasure in my hand. I must add that I love the fact that my shoes and this book matched!

An espresso martini and a good societal drama - Yes, please! One thing I have learned over the past few years is that going to a bar or restaurant by myself to read is absolutely freeing. Coffee shops are a little different...most people go to coffee shops to read.

If you like #truecrime #murdermysteries #wordle #clue #puzzles and being a #detective - you need this in your life. Some puzzles take a simple moment to solve, while others are more challenging.
I sit down with this book when I need a brain break or when I need a challenge. It's even better if you solve one with a friend or a group of people.
Any other Android users having issues with the Litsy app?? It's been acting odd for the past couple of weeks. When I try to find it on the Google Play store, it doesn't come up, so I can try to update the app. The add text function is working but not like it normally does.

This book gave some very strong #Christie and #Sayers vibes! The story was woven so intricately that I did not see that ending coming. It will constantly have you guessing who the #murderer (or murderers?) are. Slow burn of a book, but the plot thickens and twists just as a Christie novel does. As much as I loved the performer on #audiobook, I just felt like it would be better read in hardcopy. Maybe I'll do that for the 2nd book.

As much as I would enjoy sleeping in every morning, I still love getting up at 5:00 a.m. & reading for a couple of hours before work. Darcy Coates is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I'm not even a huge fan of #horror, but I've come to favor her #atmospheric writing style. When work has become so busy, I love getting lost in the setting of a #novel, and the two novels I've read by Coates do just that.

"I was the first dog that was ever called Rover, thousands of years ago-so you must have been called Rover after me! I was a Rover, too! I never would stop anywhere, or belong to anyone before I came here. PT. 2
For the past 2.5 years, my pelvic floor physical therapist has been trying to encourage me to seek mental health therapy again. I am blessed for her persistence and encouragement. Today, I went to my second mental health therapy session since 2018. Pelvic pain and mental health go hand in hand.

PT. 1 My reward for returning to therapy - sunshine, reading, and a refreshing drink by the river. Several years ago, I felt healed, like I didn't need therapy anymore. My husband had just gotten back from his 1 year deployment in Afghanistan in 2019, and we were planning our wedding. Things were fantastic until I started having severe pelvic pain, which stemmed from trauma related pain due to an abusive relationship I had been in 8 years prior.

Loving this cozy book so far!! Sherlock Holmes and a 15 year old female detective? Yes, please! I'm really enjoying King's writing; almost every chapter is a different case that Holmes and new apprentice, Mary Russell, solve. Very #heartwarming novel and #comingofage story. Detective stories that have happy and resolved endings just fill me with such joy and comfort.

I'm always a fan of a good book and a good drink. The only ever experience I've had with Hoover's writing was Verity. I wasn't sure what to expect. I was delightfully surprised that this was nothing like Verity since I wanted something light and easy to read. There are times when it makes you laugh and then times where it makes you feel all the feelings. It hits you deeper than you feel like it should.

I listened to the audiobook and was not impressed. I felt like the performer read so fast, especially with the dialog. It was the first time I've ever had to change the reading speed, and it still felt way too fast.
I have always enjoyed reading Donnelly's books, but this one was NOT my favorite, and it was rough to get through. The romance aspect was odd, and it could've been 200 pages shorter. It did have a twist near the end.

This one was okay...maybe I would have felt different had I read a hardcopy of it instead of listening to the #audiobook. There are some books I just feel can't be listened to in order to get the right vibe.
It was a nice read and interesting take on The Nutcracker, but some of the characters didn't make a lot of sense, the weird sex scene near the end felt out of place. There hadn't been really anything like that in the book.
