The Night Bird
The Night Bird | Brian Freeman
Homicide detective Frost Easton doesn't like coincidences. When a series of bizarre deaths rock San Francisco--as seemingly random women suffer violent psychotic breaks--Frost looks for a connection that leads him to psychiatrist Francesca Stein. Frankie's controversial therapy helps people erase their most terrifying memories...and all the victims were her patients. As Frost and Frankie carry out their own investigations, the case becomes increasingly personal--and dangerous. Long-submerged secrets surface as someone called the Night Bird taunts the pair with cryptic messages pertaining to the deaths. Soon Frankie is forced to confront strange gaps in her own memory, and Frost faces a killer who knows the detective's worst fears. As the body count rises and the Night Bird circles ever closer, a dedicated cop and a brilliant doctor race to solve the puzzle before a cunning killer claims another victim.

Chloe is my softest girl - doesn‘t she look cuddly?! #catsoflitsy I started #EasterReadathon strong and then lost momentum.... I finished When We Were Magic and then the tagged book (which was not even on my TBR) and started its sequel. No progress on any of my other half-read books and I didn‘t track time all that well. But! A new series is always such a joy to find and I count that as a win, despite not being my goal. @Andrew65

AlaMich She looks sooo cuddly!! 😻 (edited) 5y

This has been on my kindle for nearly a year now - I think it was one of the monthly freebies. Anyone read?

Literary_Siren I haven‘t read it yet but I picked it up in a doctors office almost a year ago. I‘ll get to it eventually. If you read it before I do let me know how it is. 6y

Great psychological thriller that had me hooked from the first page.

Psychologist Francesca Stein specializes in a controversial therapy that helps people erase their most terrifying memories and all her victims are her patients.

The brain is a wonderful organ and the way it‘s was incorporated into this story was scary and got you thinking about phobias and the function of the brain.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

How awesome is this?!?! I took my friend to the hospital for surgery this morning and the office we were in has books, instead of magazines......that you can KEEP!! When the nurse told me that, my friend saw the look of astonishment, shortly followed by excitement, on my face and she said, “I‘m not getting surgery every week.” 😂😂 but seriously why don‘t all doctors offices do this??

398.2 😱That‘s awesome! I love your friends comment. I hope she has a speedy recovery. 7y
Literary_Siren @398.2 Thank you! 7y
tomes4gnomes Books and hospitals are made for each other — so much waiting! When I was in the hospital for 4 days the first thing I did was find their little lending library. With all the downtime, I made it through 2 great books! 7y

Awesome book!!! Frankie Stein alters your memories. She can help you forget a trauma or conquer a phobia with her therapy. But is it dangerous or is someone out to ruin her? Patients are dying! Couldn't put it down from page 1.

LisaD0115 Sounds good! You may also like All Is Not Forgotten. 8y
Booknerd2 @LisaD0115 Thank you I will definitely check it out. 😀 8y

My kindle first selection for January! I hope it's as interesting as it sounds. Choosing my kindle first book is a struggle every single month!

Joybishoptx Me too! I always am torn between two. I got the one set in the 20's this month. This was my other choice though. 8y

Picked my #kindlefirst for January. I was torn between this and The Winter Over because I love anything set in Antarctica, but when one reviewer said the The Night Bird was a little Hitchcockian, it had me.

saresmoore Oh, yes! Thanks for the reminder! 8y
Theresa In torn between Night Bird & The Mutual Admiration Society. I think I'll wait a bit to see which speaks to me in the long run. 8y
