An autumn-y audio walk 😌🍁
Listening to Aaron Mahnke discuss the history of grimoires. A good bookish escape 🎧

Megara @eri.reads if you don‘t like the show, give the podcast a try! I think his podcasts are better than the TV series! (: Enjoy! 4y

TheBookDream Wait, do we apply points to ourselves? I watched 3 scary movies and I had no idea how to actually apply points 4y
Megara @TheBookDream you tag your team (mine is #TeamStoker) and the leader of your team (mine is @TheReadingMermaid )! I just like to keep track of my points. 4y

Happy Friday the 13th! Now that my work day is over I'm hoping to read but I really want to binge watch Lore on Amazon video.

P.S. this is a pic I took yesterday outside of my apartment.

hermyknee Ooo what's Lore? 6y
That-Bookish-Hiker @hermyknee its a podcast that tells the stories behind myths and legends around the world. They turned that into a mini series. My husband loves the podcast and the trailer for the show looks good. There is also a illustrated book of these stories 6y
hermyknee That sounds great! 6y

tjwill I‘m going to check it out too! 6y
vivastory I've been telling people about the trailer all week & their reaction when I reveal the name of the ventriloquist's daughter is priceless 6y
Nat_Reads What is Lore?! Always looking for a binge watchable show! Also--great shot! I love that tree. 6y
Avanders ♥️that pic! 🍁🍂 6y
That-Bookish-Hiker @Nat_Reads thanks! its a podcast that tells the stories behind myths and legends around the world. They turned that into a mini series on Amazon. There is also a illustrated book of these stories. (edited) 6y
That-Bookish-Hiker @vivastory I haven't listen to the podcast so what's the ventriloquist daughter? 6y
That-Bookish-Hiker @Avanders thanks! ☺️ 6y
hike.read.repeat I'm a fan of the Lore podcast and looking forward to watching the show but I didn't know he had a book too?! 👻💀🎃👿👽 6y
Nat_Reads COOL! I would enjoy this--thank you! 6y
vivastory @hike.read.repeat I received it in the mail today. It's great 6y
vivastory I haven't listened to the podcast yet. I meant the trailer for the series. Candace Bergen's father leaving all of his money to his dummy 6y
That-Bookish-Hiker @vivastory oh duh! lol I stopped at the lobotomy part of the trailer because that looked so painful. 6y

I need some suggestions, y'all. I'm going to have my Comp I kids do research papers over urban legends, but I want to make a list of some in case they're struggling to come up with some. So, if you listen to the Lore podcast, what's your favorite episode? If your town/city/state/country has a famous (or lesser known) urban legend, what is it? Any and all suggestions are appreciated! #TeachersOfLitsy

Lauren_reading Resurrection Mary is a Chicago area urban legend. We would always drive past that cemetery hoping to see her! 6y
manifestsanity @LaurenReads Me and my wife just watched an episode of Unsolved Mysteries about Resurrection Mary the other day! 6y

ValerieAndBooks Jan Harald Brunvand had a few good books on urban legends published several years ago. Perhaps you‘re already familiar. I can‘t remember if all the stories are teen-appropriate, however. Here‘s one of his : 6y
LauraBrook This isn't too far from me - the werewolf part, that is. 6y
Bookzombie I guess you would call this an urban legend, but maybe it's a ghost story. In San Antonio, we supposedly have haunted railroad tracks on one side of town. I have heard about it for years and if they dig much they will probably find logical explanations. https://www.legendsofamerica.com/tx-ghostlychildren/ 6y
Bookzombie La Llorona is consider and urban legend, I think. 6y
