Crazeedi To tell the truth, I read books from all time periods, I love the Tudor and Elizabethan periods, but I dont limit myself. Right now I'm reading this, @ljuliel

DrexEdit Great question! I'll read any time frame if it's a good story. I mostly tend to read NF by topic, and it's usually science-heavy. That said I do like ancient Rome. Reading the tagged book now.

EadieB @Andrew65 I think I told you this before but I really enjoyed this biography of George Washington as it also included a lot about The Revolutionary War

Andrew65 @CoffeeCatsBooks Rome books are among my favourites, and Roman Britain. Love Robert Harris books, the Cicero series and Pompeii book too. Also love the books by Ben Kane and Anthony Riches.

kwmg40 I don't have a favourite time period, as I find all of them interesting in their own ways. However, your choice of book for this blurb reminded me that I really loved Margaret MacMillan's Paris 1919. It was so informative and well written.

This book is based on the author's Massey lectures so I was hopeful it would be nice and accessible for plebians like me.

The book was ok, and I learned a few interesting tidbits of history but the format that worked for the lectures didn't work in the book. You get random people from random time periods thrown together. They are supposed to be connected by their traits like hubris or daring, but it all gets very confusing.
