I am not familiar with Tyler Kent White or his poetry but looking online for a galaxy quote this one popped up and it called to me. It speaks to the introvert in me and is a great reminder not to apologize for being who you are. 💜 I may have to check out more of his work.
so-soI was pretty excited to read this book since I‘ve been following this poet on Instagram for a long time. Turns out, all of his work together reveals repetitive phrasing and loose turn of cliche. Not that it was awful. TKW hits his stride when talking about the loss of his child and his best friend but when it came to love and heartbreak, man, I‘m pretty sure I read the same poem a few times.
I've been very Lists quiet lately. Between work, and an injury to my leg requiring an urgent care visit, and sleepy making drugs, I just haven't been motivated. 😥
Been reading this awesome collection of poetry and prose.
pickThis collection is heartfelt, emotional, &strong.
At times, he reminds me of a more romantic, younger Billy Collins (as a huge fan of Collins, this a compliment). Where Collins takes a place or object &creates an introspective poem, White does this w/ a person or a feeling.
He writes about finding yourself, being yourself, accepting yourself. He writes of a love, loss, & a spectrum of emotions that come to life w/his words.
