I loved the vulnerability in this story, and the stakes the characters were fighting for felt as important as they were supposed to be. The characters were compelling and it was hard not to get emotionally invested in their survival. Molly Ostertag (art)+Sharon Shinn (story)= a very heavyweight duo.

So so good. Just what I needed around hour 23 of #24in48.

This book sucked me in. It‘s a fast read, but full of intrigue and impressive world building. I hope there‘s more coming!

4/4. So incredible. I read this in one sitting, completely absorbed by it. I really want there to be a sequel. It had everything I love--queer characters, strong women, sensitive dudes, and beautiful art. The best kind of graphic novels suck you into their world totally and this is one of those graphic novels.

All cozy in a cafe with my partner, a mug of hot cocoa, and this beautiful graphic novel. I love Molly Knox Ostertag's art (she is also the life partner of Lumberjanes creator Noelle Stevenson!!! Comic book power couple ❤️❤️).

I love coming into work, especially when there are holds waiting for me.

A fantastic story about a society run by creatures from another planet, where humans have to make ends meet and take what they can get. Full of romance, action and intrigue, I absolutely fell in love with this graphic novel.

The art was okay, story was interesting though far from original, but the writing was not good and everything felt rushed. Just meh.

Current graphic novel read.

This book is so beautiful! The story of human rebellion against aliens is told through amazing illustrations and poignant writing. I loved seeing diverse characters and the character development is well placed and makes sense in relation to the plot. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love Molly Ostertag, so I expected to like this sci-fi graphic novel. I didn't expect to LOVE it. Amazing characters, vivid colors, with a brutal story that still leaves room for hope. Highly, highly recommended.
