"Seventh-grader Joseph Friedman is friendless and puny, with ADD to boot. He spends most of his time avoiding the class bully and hiding out in the Resource Room. But the Resource Room teacher encourages (i.e., practically forces) him to join the school cross country team, and he meets Heather, a new student who's tough and athletic and refuses to be pushed around by anybody"--

A very humorous look at being different and unable to relate to others. A young boy with ADD is bullied by an athlete. A young girl is new in school and when the athlete decides she would be a great target, he finds out differently. You will cheer for these characters throughout the book.

This was an adorable #youngadult read that came out just last year. I loved the MC Joseph and all his quirkiness! He's a 7th grader with #ADD who joins the cross country team after being encouraged by a teacher. There he makes unexpected friendships. A refreshingly cute story! #quickread #YA #fiction #recommend #bookreview #thebookkeepers

Going thru some personal issues with close family members right now who may be moving back to our home state, causing me to be emotional & reflecting on my own selfishness of our recent relocation. Reading tonight to my kiddo & coming across these quotes were pretty much my undoing 😢 “The thing I don‘t understand,” says Heather, “is you‘re supposed to be in love with people, not places.........How places seem empty without the people they love.”

Bklover Hope you find peace. ❤️ 6y

Current bedtime read with the kiddo & I‘m so hooked on this book! I absolutely love Joseph! He‘s a 7th grade boy with ADD and quirky personality traits who joins the track team with other adolescent misfits.

Of course the #middleschool #librarian in this book is the stereotype - weird, loves the card catalog, white hair, etc. The chapter turns out well but I hated these two pages. 😓

Coco How was this book? Thinking of reading it with my 3rd grader! 7y
MrsGreen @coco Really good! I love an odd-guy-out story. 7y

Next set! I went back THREE TIMES to get my hands on an ARC of Sidetracked! The wonderful rep helping me looked behind all the table clothes to finally say, "I'm afraid they must be behind that group talking. Can you come back in 15 minutes?"
"No, my ride leaves in 10." She let me take the display copy. ?

Peddler410 @Laalaleighh As I finish with them, I'll share! Most of mine are middle grade and YA though. 7y

#currentlyreading #augstrelease finally finished No Filter. A sweet romance set against the backdrop of a coastal Irish town. Loved Liam, the Irish boy who sweeps Em off her feet. #swoony
