I'm focusing on self care this weekend and this poem is much needed to quiet the guilt. #poetsy

This week has been godawful, and I'm so tired of everything. I feel like I'm on the cusp of either screaming in rage or breaking into tears. So I'm revisiting this book of poetry to find a balm for my soul. #poetsy
1. One for my dear father 😘
2. Skirts. I wear shorts at home, but don't feel comfortable wearing them outdoors
3. Football ⚽ I don't play but watch with interest
4. Cupcakes and cottage cheese casserole, they are quite easy to make 🍮 And my favorite is tiramisu - you don't even need to bake this one! 🥧

I don't read poetry, but this came in my first MyLitBox so I gave it a try. A casual paging through became a voracious reading of every word. It is thoughtful, powerful, and affecting. Gibson mulls racism, sexism, depression, self-confidence, and more in brief lines. I found this (especially the one pictured) timely.
Holy crap this was amazing! This is the best book of poetry I can remember reading--even better than milk and honey. I loved every poem in here. I had to stop posting on litsy because it would have been a post every few pages.
These are poems of healing and support, and lots of affirmation of self. Just gorgeous.
