My British step father read this to me over a series of nights almost 30 years ago, and it left a lasting impression. I recently decided to get a copy for my niece but read it before sending it on. Still enjoyable, a great children‘s adventure book.

Really sad to see Clive King, author of the children‘s classic Stig of the Dump died earlier this week. Another part of my childhood gone. An excellent book.

My current bedtime read with the 7 year old. History doesn‘t repeat or does it? How else can you explain finding a caveman living in the local rubbish dump? Both my kids and I have loved this old classic - I‘m guessing it looks familiar to the UK Littens but very strange to the US ones!
"It was then that the children went midsummer crazy."
"Clive King has attempted to learn ten languages, including Tamil, Bengali, Gaelic and Anglo-Saxon. He has not been incredibly successful with any of them..."
?One of the best author bios ever.?
After My Cousin Rachel I need something innocent and untwisty.
I don't, however, need that chocolate scone. 😬
Stig is certainly #kingofhisworld! #Characters2017 @LibrarianRyan
