In this lovely book, young readers are introduced to a variety of beautiful birds, from the familiar chicken to the exotic ibis. But lurking in the background of every page is a cat, who also seems very interested in the birds. With its funny illustrations and engaging concepts, this clever counting book will invite readers to linger over every page.

This children‘s picture book is beautiful 😻! Each page features a different bird with a cat, Plume, peeking out. Sometime just his tail or paw 🐾 is visible. Turns out Plume collects feathers because he likes fluffy pillows. 😹

Sace I love the cover! 6y

The Kirkus review of Plume includes the criticism is that some of the birds are Eurasian & that “lessens the appeal” in the US. Considering most kids in the US don't read about crocodiles or tigers or elephants, this seems legit. Also, the reviewer suggests that kids don‘t know that plume is French for feather (though plume is a cognate), and will think it's just the cat's name without catching the pun. #picturebook

A cute little picture book about a black cat named Plume. I loved that the feathers were labeled. And the artwork was gorgeous! This book is perfect for young readers.

This book gets a big smile. It is a simple book. Each page illustrates a different bird and the type of feathers they have. But there is a shadow lurking on each page. A black purring shadow, who happens to like overstuffed pillow. Cute and fun. Perfect for any cat or bird lover.

😆😃😀😄😊
