I finally gave myself permission to sit in bed & read while waiting on my husband to wake up. Normally I go sit on the couch or dining room table, in fear that I might fall asleep if I stay in bed.

With a rhyming text from author Samantha Berger that trips merrily along through all sorts of fun-sounding (if slightly gross) spa treatments, and charming artwork from illustrator Isabel Roxas that is as colorful as it is cute, Boo-La-La Witch Spa would make for an entertaining witchy read-aloud, especially at Halloween time. I really loved Roxas' use of color here, and the magical scenes she created.

First day back at the gym (for yoga) on Tuesday. Glad to be back in class.

pickI‘m not sure I expected to be reading this to my kiddo while he plays his toy drum and moshes but it is what he requested. Joyful noise and all that. It‘s a very cute and (usually) calming board book.
The kiddo decided that the cat needs to learn to read, so all week she‘s been giving him lessons. She started with Kitty‘s New Doll, because she thought it would be more interesting for him. Last night she scolded him for not taking his lessons seriously enough, so this happened this morning. 😂 Only child during a pandemic...
