Arm of the Sphinx | 
I was passing the book shop yesterday so HAD to pop in. And now I‘ve collected enough points that I have (c8 to spend on my next visit so now I HAVE to go back.
Looking forward to catching up with this series before the lasts part comes out later this year.

pickAnother great book in this series! Squidapus really loves how the characterization Senlin got in the first book is quintupled as the point of view changes to all the members of his crew. The tower is still a fascinating setting and we meet some great new characters like the Sphinx as well as get some pretty big developments and revelations. Watching these characters change and grow in they're adventure is what really makes these novels. So good!
Squidapus is so excited we lucked out and found the sequel to Senlin Ascends at the used bookstore. He loved the first book and really wants to read the second because the perspective shifts to his favorite character! Should be great!
pickI love this series! It reads quickly because it‘s so addictive but it doesn‘t lack complex plot, interesting characters, or vivid descriptions.
Yes, it was tragic and chancy, but so was sitting on your hands and wishing for a long life.

Words to live by. Books render such insight and it is incredible how wonderful authors are able to bring out such insightfulness. Suppose these are things we all know very well, but sometimes are in need of reminding.

Thanks to summer break, it has taken more than a week or two to continue reading this book. I managed to read over six books in four months and then end of the school year hit. Lucky to get a few pages in, and I don't even have any social media.
pickWonderful read! I loved everyone‘s character development and was pumped to start the Hod King.
This is the 2nd volume from the books of babel series and I haveta say, I quite enjoyed it.
A fun steampunk romp with a cast of characters that are tremendous fun to follow along with.
So happy that book 3 is coming out next month already! Talk about perfect timing! 🤗

Ah, this is the devil of writing in ink! A pencil allows one to speculate and retract, to play a card and then renege. But ink immortalizes gestures and moods and muttered truths. If pencils were all we had, I suspect there would be far fewer books.
We are, each of us, a multitude. I am not the man I was this morning, nor the man of yesterday. I am a throng of myself queued through time. We are, gentle reader, each a crowd within a crowd.
pickLOVE! This is just as brilliant as the first book. The multiple POVs gives you a better understanding of the secondary characters, who are all equally compelling. You get to explore two more levels of the tower and there are a lot more steampunk elements. But, the best thing about this book is Bancroft‘s writing. It‘s rich, philosophical, and lyrical. Plus, there‘s a feline librarian!
