1) Definitely, their stories focus on really different things and you can usually even see a difference in the books at times. A lot of my large comic book volumes still have the newspaper paper used which isn‘t common for graphic novel (plus we can even throw manga in as the third category here).
2) The tagged one is really fun and I don‘t think very well known
3) Depends on the story but open to whatever!

This is shockingly good. It is one of the best-written pieces of satire that I have read in a while. It manages to address PTSD, religion, infertility, war, and homophobia in a relevant and smart way. Using the Flintstones. I know, I was surprised, too. But trust me.
Along with Scooby-Doo Apocalypse, this is DC's best Hanna-Barbera recreation. Funny, touching, surprisingly sharp and witty, much more than the silly rock and stone puns of the cartoon (although those are there too). I didn't expect this to touch on the horrors of war, veterans, consumerism and religion. I recommend it. 4 💥💥💥💥 out of 5.
The classic pre-historic world re-imagined as trenchant social satire. Exquisite art and great writing combine in this shockingly good series. This is the new bar by which all reboots should be evaluated.
Didn‘t realize how much I needed this in my life. Super funny, laugh out bits like the swimsuits while also covering a wide variety of hard hitting topics. Definitely worth the read and will be getting volume 2 in the near future. Very nostalgic with all the same characters but takes a different twist on the story.

This is not the Flintstones of my childhood, it‘s a brilliant satire tackling a wide range of topics. This is just an incredibly well done book. Can‘t wait to read the next volume!
My husband has been after me to read this for weeks because he loved it so much. I finally have a day off and a break in reading commitments and can jump in.
If you haven‘t yet read this, do it now. This is not what I remember from my childhood; the Flintstones are revamped and sophisticated, tackling modern issues in a Stone Age world, such as marriage and war. Great read.
I just heard about this on a podcast (The Librarian is In) and think I have to try it! I was a huge fan of the cartoon when I was growing up (I remember watching it after coming home from school 😉) Lots of fun! Might be good to see a new take on the classic.
The #weekdayreadathon is clipping skinny great! After finishing S. and AMERICANAH, I decided I need something a little easy-breezy, and this did not disappoint. A delightful take on the old cartoon and a smart satire. Very well done. 5/5.
The Flintstones volume 1
A modern-day take on this Stone Age classic 🤔 Loved it 👍 I grew up watching The Flintstones cartoon 😉 Reading this volume brought back some of those childhood memories. Also, as an adult I enjoyed the modern and social perspective of this remake 👍 Different, yet the same 😁 Totally looking forward to volume 2 ✌️

The plan is to catch up on these comics during the trip to Hawai'i. The intention is there...we'll see how far I'll get 😆

We didn't deserve such a great book. You HAVE to read all of the Flintstones ASAP #comics #comicsarerealbooks
5/5 I will admit there are flat parts especially in the beginning, but it wound up actually being genius! I loved all the puns, and the humor is perfect! There are brilliant references throughout, so give this a shot!
New reading materials for the weekend! I'm excited for The Flintstones; I've heard that the writing is excellent and addresses political issues and mental health. Keeping A Nature Journal will be useful for this upcoming Spring Quarter when I'll be hiking and identifying plants and plant families in the PNW.
I do not know what is worse, the artwork or the story line. This graphic novel is so crude and mean to everyone that it has forever ruined a favorite part of my childhood.
Full scathing review on Goodreads.
Oh, and the repeated jokes about veteran suicide. Not cool man. Not cool.
Uggghhhhhhggh
Just thought I would share. They are constantly making fun of people, lots of off color jokes, etc.
I am reading the new Flintstones Graphic Novel. I am appalled at how bad it is. How it's just torn precious childhood memories to shreds. I'm going to finish it, but I'm having a hard time.
