This book was amazing loved everything about it!!! The book does flip between 2 time lines and i usually dont read them but this one was well written easy to follow and did not bore if you have not read it give it a shout out 😁

This isn't technically a series but it is set during the same time and in The Lost Daughter it does refer back to things that happened in The Secret Wife in the sections to do with the end of The Romanov's in 1917. So it does make sense to refer to these as a series.

This is the January choice for one of my book clubs. To be honest, the title and the cover screamed chick lit to me and I was not very interested. #dontjudgeabookbythecover ! This historical fiction is about the Romanovs, which I have been obsessed with since I read Nicholas and Alexandra. Did another Romanov escape the mass murder? Tatiana falls in love with a soldier in the hospital where she is nursing and this is their story.

This book was SO good! New to me author and will read her again for sure!

Had a yummy pizza dinner with @MayginReads and then a library #bookhaul - good staycation this week!

Totally captivated by this 'what if' tale. A fantastic combination of historical fact and fiction. Beautifully told, all the characters felt so very real. I knew the fate of the Romanov family but not all the details. This book filled me in and I was quite horrified by their barbaric and brutal end. So cruel! An absorbing and fascinating story. I just loved it!

No kids today, snow day for everyone. It‘s supposed to continue snowing way into tonight ! I‘m set though!

This book was beautiful. I‘m not normally a huge fan of historical fiction, but I am beyond happy that I stumbled upon this absolutely beautiful book. The story, the writing, it was just beautiful.

It‘s a blizzard outside, for annoying reasons I was at work longer than expected, and getting home only about an hour before bedtime calls for extra snuggles before laying him in his crib 😍 don‘t mind me while I enjoy some much needed baby snuggles and an ebook!

Back at it ✌🏻 little man is with his Grandparents and momma‘s reading a book and earning some Christmas cash 💰

When there are 20 mph winds and it feels like 4 degrees outside you hold on tight to a warm cup and enjoy a few pages ☺️ I am REALLY enjoying this book. The story, the writing, the characters. Everything.

Sounds like a good reading day to me! Not sure how much I will get accomplished since I‘m at work, but I‘m gonna give it a go 🤷🏼‍♀️

Very good. Gill Paul at her best as it was gripping and a beautiful story as she interweaved a love story with the political landscape of 20th century Russia and its surrounding areas. Highly recommend📖📚

I was so entranced with this book that is was impossible for me to quit thinking about it after I was forced to set it down. The depth of dmitri's depression really spoke to me, and by the end I was nearly in tears. The whole book was beautiful..

Recommend even though it is on my TBR as I have read Children and Women First, The Affair and No Place For a Lady by this author and love her work. Beautiful and intricately woven fact and fiction to creat a story to shatter your heart in all the right places.

Absolutely loved this story! I cheered on the characters the whole way through. Mixes past and present in a way that has you not wanting to put it down.
