Okay I‘m pushing it I know! 😂 but the #Harvest brought in some beautiful speckled apples and I baked them into an apple crisp while listening to this audiobook! It smells like fall guys! We picked the apples from a little orchid. Also this audio is pretty good! #FallisBooked
Only 5 more days until the collectors edition of A Conjuring of Light and Kell's backstory! Then the question becomes, do I read it immediately or reread the whole series first 🤔?
My very ambitious #OctoberTBR here‘s hoping I get at least half! Also very concerned about that chunkster It! 😬😂 #FallisBooked
Going to try and do a photo challenge since it‘s been awhile since I‘ve attempted one!
I love these books and I didn't want this one to end 🖤
And despite the fact I have the set (as seen above) I ordered the special editions from Barnes and Noble last night 🤦🏼♀️
#AuthoraMonth @Soubhiville @MinDea
This book was 637 pages so I'm counting it for #BBRC #yeahbaby Over 350 pgs @LibrarianRyan @RachelO
I might be stupid but, I just fluffing realised... When Lila asked Tieren if she was an Antari he said he didn't know. And you know, she doesn't have the mark of the Antari. BUT!!! She has a glass eye! If this has alredy been confirmed in the book I must have missed it. However, OMG she must be an Antari! Page: 58
I really enjoyed living in this world(s) & meeting these characters. That said, I didn't like this book quite as much as the first 2- maybe it was all the Holland scenes- but I can imagine wanting to revisit this in the future. I would love a deleted scene wherein George III reads the last letter. 😆 I still 💜 Kell & Rhy. Alucard made it nearly to the top of my list. Lila & even Holland grew on me along the way. And poor Ned truly needs a hug!
1- at the end of every commute I can't wait till the next one so I can listen to more of this
2- I almost like Lila now
3- no matter how much "poor Holland" backstory we get I'm pretty sure I'm not going to like him. Not even if he does manage to sorta sacrifice himself.
4- Calla ?
5- so glad I'm only halfway in this so I still have lots more story to hear
Loved the action. Best part is Maris by far .. I want more and was sad that there was only a couple of chapters of her. Loved the end. Nice twist with both the kind and queen dying and Rhy becoming King.
Kell leaving in the end with Lila on the night spire ..... loved! they both got what they wanted and each other, so good. I honestly could read another book with these characters that's how good it was.
I'm dreaming of an upgraded stereo as I broke my earphones and haven't been able to listen to this in my car since Friday morning. ? Lila is finally growing on me just a smidge...although I'm still not onboard for a romance between her and Kell. Just no. Still I'm eager to get back into this and see how the bad guy gets defeated.
(I suspect using the word "earphones" makes me sound every bit as old as I am, doesn't it? ?)
Y‘all. I‘m so tired today that I can‘t manage to cook a proper dinner, and it‘s all the fault of this book. I thought i was nearly done- and by the time I realized my estimated reading time was way off, I couldn‘t put it down. A terrific finale to a great fantasy series.
A fantastic end to a fantastic series. I have not enjoyed a fantasy/ sciFi series this much in years. This was nonstop action with the perfect balance of heartbreak, swashbuckling, excitement, romance, and high-seas hijinks. Kel and Lila stay true to their characters throughout the series, growing but not changing, and they are surrounded by a cabal of delightful supporting characters. Would highly recommend.
#55 of my year and this book is thick 😍 we love a thick sister 🥰 definitely not looking forward to this one ending but I‘m excited to see how the cookie crumbles.
I forgot to post #Day1 one results last night. I snapped this picture just before I got done. Total time was 31:09. I think I am going to start a spreadsheet to track. Working on tagged book. I have not walked regularly in a couple of years. So I am hoping this will get me motivated!😊
🔹️ My grandson fishing from my boat ramp.
🔹️ The usual, clean house, laundry and some yard work.
🔹️ Today partly cloudy, with highs in the low 80s. Humid but then it is always humid in the south!
🔹️ Hubby is cooking ribs on the grill.
So good. Pirates and magic and excellent characters (strong women! Queer characters!). This last book of the trilogy was long but didn‘t feel like it at all. I wish there was more to read.
I finished this late last night and my emotions are a bit of a mess!
This series completely swept me up. I haven‘t read a ton of fantasy and this was perfect for me. I loved the world building along with the host of interesting characters (although to be honest Lila was always my least favorite). This book provided a solid end for the characters and gets you in the feels. It‘s over 600 pages but didn‘t feel like it to me. Hello book hangover 😭
My boyfriends grandparents are coming to visit today...
This is my version of “preparing the house for guests”: reading in my chair while Rosie, our robot vacuum, does her thing. If you look close, you can spot her trying to hide from the camera via camouflage.
Yessssssss! The third book in this series fulfills all the promise from the first two - characters developed deeply and a compelling and complex storyline along with magic, danger, violence, love, beauty. This is a rare situation where I enjoyed each book more than the last, and really loved this final in the series. I grew to love Lila too, a character I felt torn about in the first two books. I‘m going to miss this world and these characters.
Still logging in for #24in48 while running errands today. I do think it‘s safe to say I may actually be able make 24 hours with some time to spare this time around (I usually hit 24 just before or at the deadline) 😁
I haven‘t looked at my feed too much this weekend but I‘m definitely cheering on my fellow marathon readers and I look forward to catching up with everything else when I‘ve met my goal!
Taking a brief break for a sugar infusion (peach bellini cupcake, 😋) before getting back to this chunkster. Small #catsoflitsy cameo curtesy of Tilney (who thinks all food is his food - tho he be wrong 😸) #24in48
After a week of craziness, I finally have a moment to just sit and enjoy a chapter or two. My back pain has been making it difficult to sit and read for long periods of time 😪
It may have taken me a few months, but I‘ve finally managed to finish this. While ultimately a pick, the first half of the novel was a struggle for me to get through. I really enjoyed the trilogy overall, but do think this final book is the weakest of the three. ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
I continue on my quest to finish up my partially read books by the end of the year. I am struggling through this one, but don‘t want to bail because it‘s the final book in a trilogy and I really liked the first two books. I‘m at the halfway point, however, and don‘t know that I care enough to finish.
Did anyone else have trouble with this book?
Bombastic conclusion to the trilogy. Not quite Battle of Hogwarts levels of death but it‘s pretty serious. This series isn‘t totally my thing, but it is very good.
What a way to end the series! ♥️ very action packed, and I loved seeing different shades of the relationships between characters. Hooray for the LGBTQ 🏳️🌈 representation as well!! My only complaint was I felt it was longer than it needed to be. Something like 19 hours on audiobook, so the middle was a bit slow.. but that ending! 🙌🏽 as well as the character development and action scenes were all top notch! Can‘t wait to read the fanfiction! 😎
624 pages later, my heart and emotions are a giant mess. The third and final book in the A Darker Shade of Magic Series is raw, gripping, heartbreaking, inspiring, and full of hope. I can‘t put into words how amazing this series is and how V.E. Schwab gave us an astonishing and gorgeous conclusion. I will miss these characters dearly and in the words of the Arnesians in Red London, anoshe.
In this final book of the trilogy, the magic that once destroyed Black London has invaded Red London, and is threatening to destroy it. A wonderful end to an incredible series. I love the characters, and I think that the writing is brilliant. Looking forward to reading more by V. E. Schwab.
It‘s time for #readathon book two, and a snack. Not sure how far I‘ll get in either, however, as I‘m currently experiencing some vertigo issues 😩 This isn‘t unusual for me, I just hope it passes quickly.
My first ever ebook loan! Thanks to my new library I have overdrive and now I can finish reading this trilogy. Excellent news.
