Mehso-so

A little haunt in the usual theme of Jonathan Carroll‘s books, crossing through reality, the dream world and death. This is probably the first so-so I‘ve given any of his books. It is a short 90 page novella, which is maybe why. Maybe I just don‘t feel like I get enough with a novella. He packs a bit into this little book though.

I'm a HUGE Jonathan Carroll fan. He's in my top 3 fav authors! 🙌

Its very clear in his writing how much this guy loves dogs. Its practically in every one of his novels. The dude can write about animals & the love of animals like nobody's business.

Here's a shot (cuz I don't get to brag about it all that often) of my signed Subterranean Press copy of his latest novella, Teaching the Dog to Read. ❤️😍❤️

TricksyTails 🐶♥️🐶♥️ I‘m going to look this one up! 6y
GrilledCheeseSamurai @TricksyTails this one is a little bit harder to find. It's kinda just for the crazy fans. If you are interested in trying some Carrol, The Land Of Laughs, while not my favorite of his, is probably his most popular/well known. 6y
GrilledCheeseSamurai @TricksyTails All his books are stand alone so you can pretty much grab whatever you find and you're good to go. The only exception is White Apples and Glass Soup. They should be read together and in that order. Other than that - it's a free for all! 🙌 6y

TricksyTails Thank you so much for the recommendations! The Land Of Laughs looks good too. I‘ll look for that one then! 😊 6y
Cosmos_Moon He‘s probably my favorite author, too, and I don‘t think I‘ve read a book he‘s written that does not have a dog in it. This is probably my least favorite JC book, though. Are all the copies of Teaching the Dog to Read signed? My copy is the same version ~56/1000. 1y
Cosmos_Moon @GrilledCheeseSamurai @TricksyTails in a few books, I noticed the same characters were coming up, but a main character in one may be an auxiliary in another, so I wondered if there were more to the connections. A lot of his books are actually series, but make sense as stand-alones. If you read them all, though you get a fully dynamic picture of the world and people he creates here‘s a list - https://www.bookseriesinorder.com/jonathan-carroll/ 1y

You see, I don't much like books, M-O-M.

(But I love you, so I tolerate your #BOTM choices, and if you say they are great, who am I to judge? So long as they don't interfere with us time).

LeahBergen 😂😂 I think The English Wife looks good! 6y
Sydsavvy @LeahBergen I know, I'm so glad she's written something darker! 6y
The_Heeler_Booklife I just finished The English Wife! I thought it was a slow book, but it ended up having a really good ending. 6y
Sydsavvy @allthingskayla good to know that hanging in there is worth it! 6y
