Finally finished this psychological thriller! It has taken me forever. I don't think I had ever read one before. I don't know if it was just this one but I don't think I'll be reading any again any time soon. I also hated the ending. I need my books ended and not just left the way this one did. I get what it was trying to do but it's just not for me. If you enjoy psychological thrillers let me know if youve read this and what you think.
1. Hospital waiting on hubby to get out of er
2. Tagged book (still)
3. Right now, the backlog of books I own waiting to be read. But also what's up from holds at library

I hate the main character. A narcissistic sibling rivalry super charged. This book is unlike any book I‘ve ever read, a serious delve in the psyche of a serious ill woman and how far hatred and jealousy will go.
I changed my review. I said so-so at first but this book was brilliantly written because I cannot stop thinking I‘d discussing it.
Just started reading this book last night... I wonder where this one will take me.
Despite how this book takes place in 21st century England, it has the atmosphere of a classic Gothic novel. Told from the POV of Betty, whose envy of her sister and obsession with her childhood home is nothing short of sinister; the beauty of this book lies not only within the pages, but also between the lines of this deeply disturbed unreliable narrator. “The Beloved” will haunt you long after you‘re through reading it. #psychothriller #gothic
What a strange book. Betty is obsessed with her childhood house, which her younger sister Gloria inherits after their mother‘s death. What will Betty do to own Pipits, her childhood home?
I had high hopes for this book but it fell a little flat for me - I wanted more.
Ok I am going to try again to attempt the #ReadingResolutions #photochallenge by @Jess7 this Month. Day one is complete! Yey!
The Beloveds came in the mail today. Thank you @ReadingSusan for sharing your extra copy with me. I can‘t wait to read it! 😃💕
Unsettling and mysterious, but I didn‘t care for the ending at all ! Atmospheric and at times eerie, The Beloveds was very entertaining, but I was not a fan of the ambiguous ending. I voluntarily reviewed an eARC copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.
Day 5 - Beloved Characters: So many to consider. Some forgotten. I couldn‘t possibly name them all.

Just a couple more days! I won a Goodreads giveaway of The Beloveds but I already read an ARC so I wanted to give it away to my Litten friends! This is a suspenseful tale of sisters, jealously and longing. If you would like a chance to win this please tag me in a post sharing your favorite psychological thriller! I will draw a name on April 5th. #litsygiveaways
Betty's obsessed with her family home, Pipits. As the oldest child, she expects that the home will be left to her after the unexpected passing of her mother.
This gothic tale is a slow burn as we watch Betty's life crumble with the loss of what she considers her rightful inheritance.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for a digital ARC to review.

#bookmail 😀 #LMPBC #goodreadsgiveaway #Goodreads
@LiteraryinLititz I received back the book today!
Also a Goodreads win. 👍🏼
Oh I liked this book. It was a little odd and strange. And for once the narrator that seems unreliable was just out there and reliable ha ha. I felt bad for Betty at first but that didn‘t last long. She‘s a very troubled person to say the least. I enjoyed finishing this up while eating my delicious salmon and stir fried veggies that the hubby and I cooked.
This book is super bizarre so far. I am a little worried about myself with the sympathy I am having for the main character. 😳 Rawlings is loving some snuggle time on this dreary Sunday.
I really want to read Stephanie Garber‘s new book but I am afraid I don‘t want to go to work. I can‘t really sit down and read for a long stretch of time until Friday so I am waiting. Starting this one instead. I love this cover.
I received this through NetGalley in exchange for my review. The narrator of this book is dark and twisted. Feeling denied her inheritance of the home she loves, she sets out to recover it. As she falls deeper into alcoholism and psychosis, her thoughts get darker. Good narrative and gothic feel. The end, however, seemed to veer off topic. This section would have been better earlier in the book, as it shows the protagonist‘s character.
I‘m getting piles again. Maybe build a bookshelf wall? Anyone done this?
