**Take a trip to the Yorkshire village of Burley Bridge, where a new arrival is going to shake things up...**Growing up in a quiet Yorkshire village, Roxanne couldn't wait to escape and find her place in the world in London. As a high-powered fashion editor she lives a glamorous life of perennial singlehood - or so it seems to her sister Della. But when Roxanne gets her heart broken by a fashion photographer, she runs away, back to Della's welcoming home above her bookshop in Burley Bridge. But Burley Bridge, Roxanne discovers, is even quieter than she remembered. There's nothing to do, so Roxanne agrees to walk Della's dog Stanley. It's on these walks that Roxanne makes a startling discovery: the people who live in Burley Bridge are, well, just people - different from the fashion set she's used to, but kind and even interesting. Michael, a widower trying to make a go of a small bakery, particularly so. Little by little, cupcake by cupcake, Roxanne and Michael fall into a comforting friendship.Could there be a life for Roxanne after all, in the place she's spent 46 years trying to escape?

A sweet story focusing on reassessing career and relationship choices during mid-life, and the possibility of changing directions. Well-depicted contrast between city and country life. Endearing characters. Looking forward to reading more of this series.
Thanks, @Clwojick , for another great #TrappedOnAnIsland pick!

This was a treat. Sweet, simple, well told tale. Great light summer reading. After building a career in fashion in London, Roxanne goes home to her childhood village. Arriving with angst to see a sister she felt she let down, at a time when her job is changing and she is not sure of her boyfriend, Roxanne moves forward throughout this book, forgiving her past self, embracing her sister and finding love and a new life, back where she started.

CindiB Meant to add this is my B choice from local library. Each time I goi chose a different letter and borrow a book with an author by that name. On c …. I am motoring (not!) 2y

Somehow I managed to knock 5 titles off my TBR this month, including the tagged book. (Six if you count the one I decided not to read after all!) Hooray for #bookspinbonanza!!!! 🎉📚❤️

I already have four titles on the go for June, but I'm excited to see which of these I'll be adding to that list. Thanks, as always to Sarah @TheAromaofBooks for hosting the ONLY TBR takedown that has ever worked for me ... ever! 😆😆#bookspin

Really enjoyed Ellen Berry's writing. How she describes Londons countryside/city. All the fashion info as well. I am trying to order her other books, but when it comes to The Bistro On Rosemary Lane I am unable to order it or even find its release date.... anyone out there who can help?

Book 4 for 2020. I'm on a roll!!! I know a lot of Litens on here read multiple books at once, but I can not. I have never mastered that art. LOL. So 1 at a time I carry on, I set a goal of 30 books for the year, though low considering people on here read 100+.... Life just seems to get busy at times and books get pushed to the side.😞😟

ljuliel Just read what you‘re comfortable with. 😊Don‘t compare yourself with others. 5y
Butterfinger I agree with @ljuliel 5y
Krystle13 Oh I know. Lol. I LOVE reading. Just dont always have the most time for it. So I'm taking advantage of the time now. Lol 5y

Good. Enjoyed the story and the characters. My only issue with this is that the cover says that it's about a bakery but it really isn't as there is a bakery in the village but if like me you enjoyed the first book, the little bookshop on Rosemary Lane, you will know that it was all about the bookshop but this book isn't even though many things are the same the story does not reflect the title.

DivineDiana Well, that‘s strange! 🤔 6y

Thanks to @TheReadingMermaid game of turn to page 206 to find out about your love life, I have found that this book hasn't got a page 206. I am not having a much luck with books as at the moment 😔

BeansPage I hope they send you a new printed book. I had that happen to me once. And I contacted the publisher and they sent me a new courtesy copy with their apologies lol 6y

KatieanneF Wow...seems like an oversight that should have been caught... my goodness 😲😲 6y
Birdsong28 Look @Schnoebs this is the book I was on about. They said for me to take it back to the seller but I got it from a supermarket and at least a year had gone by by the time I had got to the book I explained all this and they replaced it for me. 5y
Schnoebs @Birdsong28 that‘s kind of my issue, I don‘t remember where I got it from 😂 5y
Birdsong28 @Schnoebs It's the publisher's issue not the seller's anyway 📚📖 5y
