I‘ve spent part of the evening plugging some of my holiday reads into the bingo board to try and get some of my #wintergames2021 reading planned out. I don‘t think I‘ll be able to resist starting my Christmas books til December, I‘m so excited 🧑‍🎄🎄

A quick book (managed to read it in between prepping for my son‘s birthday party) - full of advice for the pitfalls of a traditional English 21st Century Christmas - laugh out loud after the chapter on Timothy the Turkey. #WinterGames #MerryReaders #HolidayRead

The essay parts of this book were my favourite, they had me laughing out loud. I wish there had been more as I didn‘t love the short stories the same way. They had a darker/more melancholy edge, which might suit some people‘s tastes but given the author excels at dry and sarcastic humour I wanted more of that! I listened to the audiobook, which was read by the author herself, and her dead-pan and slightly sardonic way of reading was perfect.

Finished this set of humorous essys by Nina Stibbe- themed on family Christmases and dry turkeys! Lovely Christmas eve read. Merry Christmas Day to all who celebrate🎄🎄🎄🎄🎁❤️🐾

Next up- waiting for the Maple Ice Cream to finish in the mixer, Whiskey and I are watching a fireplace (on Netflix!) and starting our next read! #DogsOfLitsy
