Okay, honestly I picked this up for some silly tentacle shenanigans but I was surprised by the intricate world-building that was actually really interesting. I liked learning about the magic system involved in these towns of mythical creatures as well as watching Kris & Levi fall in love like in a day. It was a fun mix of serious and ridiculous

The new owner of the coffeeshop and the assistant mayor decide to fake date so the town will recognize that they are serious about putting down roots and will support their futures. Of course, real feelings become involved but I liked that both men were relatively open about it. Just another low angst happy ending in Christmas Falls

Three shorts in this one. They were all okay, but more about the characters shagging than anything Christmasy. Sometimes I enjoy Shalvis, but it feels like whenever she has shorter stories, she focuses on spice over story, which just isn't my personal preference lol

Terrible. Bratty “supermodel” Kayleigh asks Santa for a “Daddy” for Christmas, her wishes are answered when she wakes up to her brother‘s friend who is snowed in at her parents house.

Cringe dialogue. I don‘t want to kink shame but I don‘t even feel like it‘s explained well & instead of age play Kayleigh just seems pathetically immature.
