This is definitely my favorite sourdough cookbook. I mixed up the dough for these overnight baguette twists yesterday afternoon, shaped them early this morning, and baked them before leaving for church. The recipe is simple and delicious!

Deblovestoread I‘ve just started my sourdough journey. Baked my 3rd loaf yesterday. There is so much conflicting info out there so maybe this book would help that. And your loaves look fantastic! 1w
Karisa Oh wow! Looks so yummy! Lucky people in your life! 😊 1w

Daisey @Deblovestoread There is a lot of conflicting info, but this book is less complicated than many. I‘ve had my sourdough for 30 years now and am still learning different methods. The main thing I like to remember is that it has been used for hundreds of years. It doesn‘t always work perfectly, but it also doesn‘t have to be that complicated. 1w
mabell Those look fabulous! 7d
Tamra @Daisey it‘s now warm enough in the house consistently to make a starter. I am going to order this book. 😁 7d
Daisey @mabell Thanks! 7d

Yesterday I made the jalapeño cheddar sourdough from the tagged cookbook. I shaped one larger loaf and a few of these small rolls as well. The combination made for an amazing sausage and egg breakfast sandwich along with the chipotle mayo I made as well.

I‘ve seen several recipes for chocolate #sourdough and always thought it sounded strange, yet it also made me curious as well. With another snow day yesterday, I decided to try the chocolate focaccia in this #cookbook. The recipe said to bake in a large cast iron skillet. I made a large and small, but I think it would look more focaccia like if I‘d made two large. It‘s perfect with a smear of Nutella and a morning cup of coffee.

mabell Wow that‘s cool! I haven‘t been successful with sourdough yet. This sounds like it would make very yummy toast! 3mo
Daisey @jenniferw88 @Tamra @BethM Thanks! Yes, it‘s delicious and does taste like chocolate. It‘s fascinating because it has the chewiness of sourdough with only 1 tbs. honey for sweetener, approximately 1/4 cup cocoa, and chocolate chips. I‘ve been making sourdough a long time, but this was definitely something new! 3mo
Tamra @Daisey I wanted to make some starter, but I think during the winter our house temp isn‘t ideal. 68-70/71. 3mo
Daisey @mabell It‘s delicious! I‘ve been making sourdough a long time, and it can definitely have its quirks. If you‘re looking, this cookbook is great and the author‘s blog the Clever Carrot has some sourdough resources as well. 3mo
Daisey @Tamra I probably would recommend getting started with sourdough when it‘s warmer, but it just takes more patience with cooler temperatures. My house is never above 70 in the winter. 3mo
Tamra @Daisey I think I‘ll wait until late spring. After I get it going I know it won‘t be a problem. 3mo

Pickpick

Most of the time I use recipes from family & friends or find new recipes online. After having a #sourdough starter for over 25 years, I often adapt bread recipes myself. However, once in a while I still appreciate a #cookbook and recently took some time to read through this one. I‘ve made the Soft Honey Whole Wheat and the Sunday Morning Bagels (this morning), and both recipes turned out wonderfully. I‘ll be trying more of the recipes.

Tamra Lovely! I love a good cookbook as much as any novel. 3y
Daisey @Tamra I do love reading through them and dreaming of cooking adventures. 3y

This is my newest obsession. All because I read Sourdough by Robin Sloan last year! Today‘s recipe: bagels!

I‘ve got three books in process right now and the characters of each of them are rubbing me the wrong way. Bread never rubs me the wrong way, although it sure does skew that number on my scale 😱 (this is chocolate chip sourdough)

readherwriteher Ooh! I never thought to add chocolate chips to sourdough. That looks DELICIOUS. 🤤 6y
