Yesterday I made the jalapeño cheddar sourdough from the tagged cookbook. I shaped one larger loaf and a few of these small rolls as well. The combination made for an amazing sausage and egg breakfast sandwich along with the chipotle mayo I made as well.

I‘ve seen several recipes for chocolate #sourdough and always thought it sounded strange, yet it also made me curious as well. With another snow day yesterday, I decided to try the chocolate focaccia in this #cookbook. The recipe said to bake in a large cast iron skillet. I made a large and small, but I think it would look more focaccia like if I‘d made two large. It‘s perfect with a smear of Nutella and a morning cup of coffee.

mabell Wow that‘s cool! I haven‘t been successful with sourdough yet. This sounds like it would make very yummy toast! 2mo
Daisey @jenniferw88 @Tamra @BethM Thanks! Yes, it‘s delicious and does taste like chocolate. It‘s fascinating because it has the chewiness of sourdough with only 1 tbs. honey for sweetener, approximately 1/4 cup cocoa, and chocolate chips. I‘ve been making sourdough a long time, but this was definitely something new! 2mo
Tamra @Daisey I wanted to make some starter, but I think during the winter our house temp isn‘t ideal. 68-70/71. 2mo
Daisey @mabell It‘s delicious! I‘ve been making sourdough a long time, and it can definitely have its quirks. If you‘re looking, this cookbook is great and the author‘s blog the Clever Carrot has some sourdough resources as well. 2mo
Daisey @Tamra I probably would recommend getting started with sourdough when it‘s warmer, but it just takes more patience with cooler temperatures. My house is never above 70 in the winter. 2mo
Tamra @Daisey I think I‘ll wait until late spring. After I get it going I know it won‘t be a problem. 2mo

Most of the time I use recipes from family & friends or find new recipes online. After having a #sourdough starter for over 25 years, I often adapt bread recipes myself. However, once in a while I still appreciate a #cookbook and recently took some time to read through this one. I‘ve made the Soft Honey Whole Wheat and the Sunday Morning Bagels (this morning), and both recipes turned out wonderfully. I‘ll be trying more of the recipes.

Tamra Lovely! I love a good cookbook as much as any novel. 3y
Daisey @Tamra I do love reading through them and dreaming of cooking adventures. 3y

A tiny little #ebook available on #hoopla. My cousin gifted me some sourdough starter and I'm trying to educate myself in the ways of the mother dough. 😍
So far I'm still baby-ing the starter and haven't baked bread yet. However, I've made crumpets from my discard and will be attempting crackers tonight from it. Fellow sourdough enthusiasts here? 🍞 #nonfiction

Clare-Dragonfly I am a huge sourdough enthusiast! 😋 I highly recommend checking out Foodgeek‘s channel on YouTube if you are helped by cooking videos. He does a lot of interesting experiments and clear, easy-to-follow recipes. 4y

A fairly intermediate bread baking book - though I think that most sourdough books are intermediate bread baking because of the natural yeast aspects of it.
I lived with a year of flat loafs until I found a "method" that worked with our humid climate and my timings. Hopefully I will be able to convert some of the recipes noted here into something that works for me.

Working my way through this as I have time to refresh my starter. I bought it more for the science-y part and not so much for the recipes but I think I will try a couple next year.

I loved this one. Smart and weird and so possible, but also so not. And Lois Clubs are a real thing! I have celiac disease and can‘t even eat bread but it made me want to build an oven. #botm #sourdough

Once upon a time there was a girl who worked in a big IT company. By accident she catches the eye of flyer delivery service. She makes the order and from that moment her life begins to change!
It's a quick, enjoyable read!
P.S. Reading the book, I sometimes drooled from the way freshly baked bread was described!😋
