A Simple Story | 
so-soI just finished A Simple Story & now I‘m just about to start a simple supper😉😋 So this was a pleasant story, but a bit silly at times. The author, a Polish immigrant to Israel, won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1966. We toured his home last year with Hillel Halkin, who translated this story. I thought the translation was very authentic and true to both the culture and the language. Read for my IRL bookclub.

Cinfhen I wish I could @Anna40 !!! When we toured The Agnon House this was the book the guide suggested we read. It really captured life in a Polish “shtetl” (village) and my bookclub found the story charming. I was a little underwhelmed but it was still a mostly sweet story 5y

Cinfhen Hillel was so knowledgeable and such a great guide @Anna40 I‘m hoping to visit the home of Amos Oz although I‘m not sure if it‘s been turned into an actual museum like Agnon‘s. I went with my bookclub for an outing, it was really fun. 5y
