This book was completely compelling from the first page to the very last. Beautifully written with honesty and grit. It's inspired me to read some non-fiction about the real kidnapping of Sally Horner - and I'll for sure be checking out Greenwood's other works! I can't recommend this book enough! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Reading 📖 “Rust and Stardust” 💫 by T. Greenwood today at treatment. Plus, I‘m loving how cute my new bookmark is! 🌸 💐
Inspired by the true events of Sally Horner‘s kidnapping in 1948, this book spans the two years she is held. It crosses multiple states, voices and is something of a footnote that this crime also inspired Lolita. I like Greenwood‘s writing and this audio version is performed well with dark subject matter and moments of hope. #AudioColoring
This weekend I was able to meet the author for “Keeping Lucy” and “Rust and Stardust”! T. Greenwood is such a wonderful author and incredible writer. The book “Rust and Stardust” is a historic or fiction book based on a kidnapping. I have not read much of this yet, but I am so excited to dive in more!
Based on the real-life kidnapping of Sally Horner, this is the heartbreaking story of a child, snatched by a pervert in 1948, desperately trying to figure out what‘s happening to her. Greenwood‘s writing is lovely, buoying the darker elements. RUST AND STARDUST illustrates the ripple effects of tragedy and encourages us all to hug our loved ones a little tighter. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #Netgalley #bfcr2 Book 3/30
Based on a true crime story, this is a fictionalized account of 11 year old kidnapping victim, Sally Horner's plight told from multiple perspectives. This story follows Sally as she travels the country with her captor and child predator, Frank LaSalle. Obviously disturbing but compelling and very well written. This will break your heart and make you hold your dear ones closer.

Goodbye fingernails! Just started this one last night and I can tell it might be a bit tough to get through. Based on true events, this is already heart wrenching and anxiety inducing.
5 ⭐️ I‘ve been in a reading slump for the first part of February. I picked up Rust & Stardust and goodness am I glad I did. I read this book in under two days. I was hooked from page one. It was fascinating, heartbreaking, moving, hopeful, and eye opening. It‘s a book that will stick with me for a long time. I‘m happy to have learned about Sally Horner in this novel that is an imagined rendering of the years she spent on the road with her captor.

This book was...fine. It did what it set out to do adequately and solidly, but I had, perhaps unreasonably, high expectations and wanted something more from it. I‘m being picky - everyone else clearly has been raving about it - but it just didn‘t strike a very strong note with me. I wish there was a level between “pick” and “so-so” because its GOOD, truly, if not great, and just not...special to me.
Ugggg my heart. Even being familiar with the case this book is fictionalizing, every page was painful. It‘s beautiful but it‘s a nightmare.
Great book- not necessarily easy to read due to the topic. Based on a real kidnapping back in the late 1940s- and not just kidnapping but a couple years of child molestation. And while all of this is all so disturbing and sad, it‘s the ending and aftermath that left me devastated. Well done. I‘ll read more from this author!
Based on an actual case, this was extremely hard to read at times. It was upsetting and shocking and disgusting. Its also eye-opening how easily this happens. T. Greenwood tells this story with compassion and skillful storytelling. This was hard to put down. Such a tragic case.
Recommended.

Congrats @TheLibrarian and thanks for this awesome giveaway! Tagged book was my favorite followed by Ginny Moon. #70kgiveaway
“Lolita” is one of my all time favorite books. I had zero idea until I picked this book up a couple weeks ago, that “Lolita” was based on a true story. “Rust & Stardust” is a fictionalized version of the real life events. Starting this now!
I am working like mad to complete #popsugar2018. My next book will be Rust and Stardust for #truecrime. It‘s the case that supposedly inspired Lolita so I‘m anticipating an intense read.
