An excellent introduction and reference resource to the co-active coaching model. This book was assigned reading for a course I am taking, but I already had it sitting on my shelf before the class started! I will be going back to this book frequently to review different concepts and approaches!

It‘s a quiet afternoon here while Maya is off playing with a friend, so I‘m doing a bit of a class reading assignment. We‘ve had a lovely relaxing day of reading, spending time outdoors, and watching TV. Later on, we may partake in the traditional Jewish Feast during Christmas....Chinese food. 😜 🍚 🥠
Tomorrow will probably be just like today!

And in excellent news...my sister was discharged from the hospital! 🎉🎉🎉

Kaye That sounds great. What type of situations would you be working in ? People with depression, people down on their luck and trying to get a new job, or get out of a bad lifestyle ? 5y

alisiakae @kaye I plan on specializing in health & wellness; helping people bring balance to their life, achieve various wellness-related goals, etc. Different from counseling, coaching comes from a place of empowerment that a person has the tools within themselves to make the changes they seek, and a coach‘s role is to guide them along the way rather than tell them what to do. I have a psych degree, but I won‘t be doing therapy. 5y

Kaye So will you be working through a hospital or doctors office, health insurance field ? Interesting, as I used to be a nurse back in my younger years. I‘m all for improvements in the health field, as I‘m now the patient frequently. I liked it better on the other side ! 5y

alisiakae @kaye I‘m setting up my own personal business, and actually plan on networking with a few local yoga studios as well as offering coaching sessions via phone or Skype. I am also eventually planning on working towards building relationships with adoption organizations to provide wellness group workshops to adult adoptees who are also in the process of search/reunion, as this area is definitely a passion of mine, having experienced it myself! alisiakae @Tamra They should hopefully be done by 2 today! Although that estimate was before they found 5 rotted plywood boards. The builder of our house did some really shoddy work on the original roof, we have had so many issues. Happy to get the old one off and new one on, but also glad we waited till a storm caused damage...we had enough hail/wind damage that the insurance adjuster approved on the spot. ☺️ 5y

MoMogrl What journal is that? I am having a hard time getting in to bujo, but think something like that would help. I need to organize my life! 5y

alisiakae @saresmoore I wish! But with the wait list and production delays, we couldn‘t the wait 1 1/2 yrs for it, since we have current roof leaks and other problems that we didn‘t want to patchwork repair. 😫 5y

It‘s a massive to-do list, but I‘m feeling loads better now that I had a chance to write it all down. Aiming for a bit of late night reading before I konk out! None of this will heal the pain my sister is in, but it has given me renewed energy to be there for her and still allow some self-care for me to help her the best I can.

My reading for pleasure is about to take a deep dive....because I am transitioning into a career change to become a holistic life and wellness coach!

I‘m both excited and nervous about this change, but the first step is complete! 🎉🎉 I finished the Penn Positive Psychology Specialization on Coursera last week, and start my ICF certification course on Monday!

Leisure reading, however, may be few and far between.
