#JoinIn I've been taking some time, with the sad news of my aunt Cindy passing away from lung cancer. 🕊🎗 This happened very suddenly, with some quietness about the symptoms (during Christmas) sadly with only a few days notice for family. 😔 The book The Silver Skates (last year's read) was a gift from my aunt. Books and vintage collectables, we'll treasure in memory.

TheBookHippie @curiouserandcurioser I did that for years -it unfortunately was not a good fit for me as it was tied to religious abusiveness. I do journal every day and have for 40 years 😳 I also write -which is extremely therapeutic I highly recommend it. I think during the pandemic and being stuck in the house since March I need to purposely do Joy things 🤍🤍 for sanity 🤪🤣🤣🤣🤣 3y

TheBookHippie @curiouserandcurioser I have found mentoring for the past decades and in my own life telling people to be grateful is way more harmful than good. Doing things that bring you joy and making sure to do so seems way more healthy to me in my altruistic hippie world. 3y

TheBookHippie @curiouserandcurioser Oh, I know. I think it is wonderful you can do it. I have a friend who thinks of three things before she gets out of bed everyday and three more before she goes to bed. She swears by it as helping her out of her pessimism way of looking at life. My mantra has always been find the joy, which with my name I kinda have to! HAHAHAHAHA. 3y

This is the first Christmas I hadn't receive a book for Christmas. My mother passed away from cancer this year. I don't have a brother or a sister. Never knew who my father was and I don't have a boyfriend.
I graduated this year, my second diploma. I had to quit nursing because of an injury. Started a new job. So I bought myself this book and a new switch game. 😊
The last few years have been really hard. I am thankful for my fur babies. ❤🐶

TheKidUpstairs I'm so sorry for all you've been through. I hope you enjoy this book, it's a good one, and you certainly deserve to treat your self. I hope your new job is a good one, and that you enjoy a good snuggle with the fur babies. Sending much Litsy love your way. #joinin 3y

tenar Oh, that Zelda game is my favorite on the Switch! I hope you have moments of happiness & peace while exploring it. I loved Mario Odyssey, too, and Animal Crossing this year. For the holidays I got myself two games from the digital store- The Raven, an old mystery that seems to be a spin on Murder on the Orient Express, and a game of travel writing called Wanderlust: Travel Stories. It‘s almost all reading- I was thinking I might review it on here. 3y

MartinaLove @tenar Oh I can't wait to read your review of Wanderlust. It sound really interesting. The Raven sounds like a lot of fun too. I started playing Animal Crossing in April. My mother passed away March 21. The game help me a lot to pull myself together. I really like Zelda. I love exploring open world games. I might buy Assassin Creed or the Witcher next. Theres also Mario Kart that I want to buy. 3y

tenar I‘m glad Animal Crossing was there to help a bit during this hard year. I actually didn‘t know how much I loved open world games until Zelda completely swept me away. I‘ve heard nothing but good things about The Witcher from so many players, and I found playing Mario Kart online to be stupendously fun. Hopefully I‘ll read through Wanderlust and have some thoughts on it in January! I hope you and your sweet dogs have a warm New Year‘s together. 3y

Even though I work from home, I‘m working my normal day today. Unfortunately, most parts of healthcare don‘t stop for the holidays, so I‘m spending the day reading about Covid mortalities. My husband is also working tonight, because ICUs don‘t close for the holidays, either (he‘s an MICU-now a Covid ICU- charge nurse). So, thanks for letting me #joinin with you guys! 💚
