Wolfsbane and Mistletoe
Wolfsbane and Mistletoe | Charlaine Harris
10 posts | 18 read | 9 to read
Charlaine Harris, Keri Arthur and Patricia Briggs bring you a Christmas present to remember! We all know the holiday season can bring out the beast in anyone - but it's especially hard if you're a lycanthrope! Gathered here together is a veritable feast of fears and tears: fifteen of the scariest, saddest, funniest werewolf tales, by an outstanding pack of authors, best read by the light of the full moon, and with a silver bullet close at hand. In 'Gift Wrap', Sookie Stackhouse is feeling mighty sorry for herself, all alone for Christmas - until she meets someone with bigger problems than loneliness ... Patricia Briggs gives us the story of lone wolf David Christiansen, who needs to mend fences with his daughter, before it's too late. In 'Christmas Past', Keri Arthur tells the tale of Hannah, who gets an unmerry and potentially life-threatening Christmas present when the hunky werewolf who dumped her last Christmas Eve turns up as her partner on the hunt for a vampire serial killer. All these and more feature in WOLFSBANE AND MISTLETOE, the perfect antidote to Christmas mawkishness!

15 short story collection. I really only liked the Sookie stackhouse story. Probably because I only knew those characters and not any of the other ones.

Finished on 12/31/23. This was book 250 of 2023!

CatLass007 If you enjoy urban fantasy, you can‘t lose with Patricia Briggs‘ Mercy Thompson series. 4mo

This was a fun read full of werewolf Christmas themed short stories.

Soubhiville Werewolves and Christmas, who knew that was a genre?! 👍 3y

I'm a bit late with this, but better late than never.

1. The tagged book is the only one I've read this month which is a collection of short stories. My favourite so far is Fresh Meat.

2. I often cook, exercise and clean whilst listening to an audiobook.

Thanks for the tag @Kenyazero

I'm not much one for festive reading, but hopefully this is more up my alley.

Finished this book of 15 #HolidayReads for #WinterGames!

It was an uneven collection — some stories I really liked, some didn‘t hit for me at all. 🤷🏻‍♀️ They all had werewolves and I really liked some of the new mythologies certain stories built, even in the short page count.

#TeamFestivus - 300 pts!
(I‘ll add up all my #24b42020 hours at the end, Captain!)

wanderinglynn Awesome job! And I felt the same way about the collection. Some I liked (Charlaine Harris, Patricia Briggs), some I didn‘t. 4y

My #holidaytradition for Christmas Eve is to make my husband and I a festive meal with turkey, because his family always does roast for Christmas Day, but I need the bird to feel like Christmas!

This year, I attempted four new recipes, three of which I can share links to down below.

20 + (20*4) + (5*3) = 115 pts for #WinterGames

A fun set of 15 paranormal holiday-themed tales. My faves were the stories by Charlaine Harris and Patricia Briggs (who is the Queen of all things were).

A new Christmas tradition of mine is to this. Its my ideal of a great Christmas read for anyone looking for an alternative to the traditional soft and fluffy Christmas stories. Some of the complications Charlaine Harris has done haven't always been great but this is a real winner for me. I'd really recommend it.

A Christmas present from my brother years ago, that I still haven't gotten to! I've been obsessed with werewolves from a young age and proudly did my dissertation on the subject! Somehow, however, december gets busy and I refuse to read this out of season. And it's a short season when you're chapter 1 Scrooge.
