This was a very enjoyable read, beware the Secretary, treat her nicely for your own sake.
24th book finished for #JumpStart2022 1st book finished for #20in4
Started listening to The Secretary. Looking at the cover expecting something of a psychological read.

The secretary is the most dangerous person in the room.

It's too hot today to read anything but a nice pulpy easy reading thriller. This is doing the job nicely.
What a delightfully dark read! Your devoted secretary is diligently by your side daily for years, you confide in her, you use her devotion to you to manipulate her into doing things she shouldn't. She gives up her family to be at your beck and call, will she stay by your side as your world starts to crumble?! A mesmerising read the relationship between the secretary and her boss was a twisted and addictive read. #thesecretary #reneeknight
Ok so I can‘t rave about this book being the most exciting and riveting but I‘m going to rate it a so-so cause it kept me reading. Its a super easy read and I pretty much finished it in three days. Having an ending that was not expected gave the book a few points also. It is a little slow to start but does pick up in the middle.
It took a while to get off the ground, the final few scenes were worth the wait though. I think the ending was clever, and in ways was a cliff hanger- don‘t worry I won‘t spoil it. I wouldn‘t say that it‘s excellent, but it‘s a good read. If you‘re looking for an intense thriller, it‘s perhaps a bit tame and mild, it is interesting though and a good examination of loyalty.
This was a big ‘meh‘ for me. It felt like it went on forever and when it finally reached the ‘pinnacle‘ of the story I was ready to move on to another book.
Great book! I did not see that ending coming! Love a twist!!
A slow burn.. not sure how I feel about the ending. A tad repetitive, but a good showing of the struggle for power and loyalty..
I‘ve finally found a position where #Luciacat let‘s me read in bed.. here she is trying to pull my arm back down 😂 .. #catsoflitsy #KAL
