The Asylum Novellas
The Asylum Novellas: The Scarlets, The Bone Artists, & The Warden | Madeleine Roux
10 posts | 14 read | 19 to read
Three chilling novellas set in the world of the New York Times bestselling novel Asylum, which Publishers Weekly called "a strong YA debut." For the first time, these three terrifying stories will appear together with new found photographs perfect for new readers or diehard series fans looking for new clues and insights into the thrilling world of Asylum. This collection also features bonus sneak peeks at Asylum, Sanctum, and Catacomb, the novels that first introduced the Brookline asylum's legacy of terror. In The Scarlets, Cal is drawn into New Hampshire College's twisted secret societyone with a deadly initiation. In The Bone Artists, Oliver tries to make a little extra money for college by working for a seedy organization that traffics in human bones. In The Warden, a young nurse starts a new job at the Brookline asylum but soon becomes suspicious of its unorthodox procedures. . . .

I just created my first Goggle form. If all goes well with my test, tomorrow I'll put up the #allhallowsreadbookexchange sign up post!!!🎃☠️😈👻 I'm sooo excited!!!
But for now, I'm fading. Goodnight awesome #Littens

becausetrains Did something happen to the @BookishMarginalia #halloweenexchange? She's been on this game a while now. 7y
LibrarianRyan @becausetrains I will be happy to participate but I agree with becausetrains. @BookishMarginalia already uses this hashtag and does an excellent job on her exchanges. She does them 4 times a year. I know she has been planning for a few months already. I would hate for 1. You to do so much work that has already been done and 2 for any Litten to be confused by 2 book exchanges with same/similar titles and times. 7y
LibrarianRyan I just checked and she it appears she is using #Halloweengoespostal. I love book exchanges so I wish you luck in what ever endeavor you choose. 7y

LauraJ I think this one will be horror themed, for those of us who love all things creepy. But I could be wrong. 7y
Texreader Yay!! 7y
That-Bookish-Hiker Excited for this! 7y
tricours I will sign up for a horror themed exchange! @BookishMarginalia has one for Halloween that is not horror themed, so If this one is about horror they do not necessarily crash. @LibrarianRyan @becausetrains 7y
Karkar Soooooo excited!!!!!! 7y
Clwojick Is it bad that I went out today and bought some books for this already, in hopes that it would be a go! 7y
BookishMarginalia Nice! I'm horror-averse, or I'd join! (By the way, sign ups for #HalloweenGoesPostal start Sept 1. Thanks to @becausetrains and @LibrarianRyan for the ❤️!) (edited) 7y

Well, after blueberry picking, I know my plans for the rest of the weekend. Reading and baking in the air conditioning. It's muggy gross here in NY.

athorne *sneaks into your house with a book to await fresh baked yumminess* I'm not allowed to cook. It's too risky for the well-being of my mom's house. 7y

I feel like keeping with the creepy theme. I'm reading this first (because it jumped out at me at the library). Is it ok to read before the novels?

BekahB It's been a while since I read the novellas, but I don't think you'll get any spoilers if you read them before the novels. It gives you more of a background of the villains in each of the novels. The novellas also introduce some of the side characters from each novel. The whole series is a quick, fun read. 😀 7y
annkuch13 I don't think this spoils anything. It gives some good additional character development but they're okay as stand alone, too. 7y

These two books are both filled with short stories. My favourite part about them is that they tell stories about characters that I love and wouldn't get a chance to read about if these books hadn't been published. #day17 #booktober #shortstories

I really enjoyed the novellas. They gave a little more depth to the books and I feel like the author did a good job of joining the stories together along with the series. I liked the background they gave as a companion to the other books!

This was a fast easy read. I enjoyed getting to know some of the minor characters from the series better.
