😳♥️😳♥️😳♥️ #Littens which do I read next # 3 or Assassin‘s Blade????

Enchanted_Bibliophile I read Assassin's Blade as it was the next available book at the time. And I was glad I did, especially towards the end of the series 5d

I‘ve missed you dear #littens as I‘ve been in a lot of pain this week - sciatic pain can get excruciating. When able to focus, I continue to devour the Emma series. 😊

I really can‘t decide which audio book to listen to next. I just finished Burn For Me and I liked it but I‘m not sure that I want to jump into the whole series. Kate Daniels looks interesting to me and full cast audio is very compelling. Any thoughts from the #Littens?

LiseWorks This is a must read series. It is very good. Go for it. 4mo

Clare-Dragonfly Bahaha, perfect 😂 I hope Esther goes on to live a happy life! Certainly I hope it‘s better than her creator‘s. 5mo
Bookwormjillk Go to hell buddy. She should have let him dig out his own dang car. Thanks @BarkingMadRead for another great read. 5mo
Ruthiella Buddy, Buddy, Buddy! Marsha, Marsha, Marsha! 5mo
TheAromaofBooks Thank you for hosting!! This is one of those books I always felt like I “should“ read but never have. I didn't love it, but some of the writing was amazing. 5mo
Deblovestoread So glad to have finally read this book! 5mo
kwmg40 Perfect comment about Buddy. Thank you for hosting! I needed this group read to motivate me to start this book, which had sat on my shelves for a long time, but once I got into it, it was easy if sad reading. 5mo
Andrea313 Thanks for hosting! It's always the right time to read The Bell Jar, and I'm so glad I got to read it with this group. ❤️ 5mo
ElizaMarie Thank you all again for this wonderful group—especially @BarkingMadRead for hosting. I have wanted to read this book for a while now, and I am glad I experienced it with a group. 5mo
dabbe @Ruthiella 🤣🤣🤣 5mo
dabbe Esther truly reminded me of Holden in CATCHER IN THE RYE, and both books ended on a hopeful note--both of them hopefully on the road to recovery. I only wish Plath had been able to keep that bell jar off of her for good. 🥺 Couldn't have read this without this fantastic group, and thanks again, @BarkingMadRead, for seeing us through. 💚 5mo
DieAReader @BarkingMadRead 🤓💖Thanks for a great group read! 5mo
tpixie @BarkingMadRead thanks for hosting this event. This is a book that felt I really needed to read, and I‘m glad I was able to do it with you as a host and with other#Littens. SP did have a way with words. I could see how she was a poet in her prose. 5mo

I don‘t know if #recommendsday is still a thing here, but I sure could use some recommendations. I‘ve been reading the Innkeeper Chronicles by Ilona Andrews and really liking it. I‘m wondering if any #Littens have other urban fantasy suggestions. The fewer vampires the better (if that even exists.)

Scochrane26 I just read A Touch of Darkness, which I think is considered urban fantasy. If you don‘t mind some spice that‘s more on erotica side, it was good. 6mo
Sace It sounds interesting! Thanks! 6mo
audraelizabeth You could try the mercy thompson series. 6mo
See All 22 Comments
Leniverse I second the Mercy Thompson series. There are some vampires there, but they are side characters. Also "Rivers of London". I don't recall any vampires in those, and they are amazing on audio if that's your thing at all. 6mo
Luke-XVX I‘m currently reading the 1st book in the Sandman Slim series, only 60 pages in and no vampires so far…. 6mo
5feet.of.fury Ilona Andrews has been some of my favorite urban fantasy, if you haven‘t read Burn for Me I‘d suggest that! 6mo
5feet.of.fury And I‘ll add another rec for Mercy Thompson, I‘m not caught up, but I keep meaning to get back to it, loved the early books! 6mo
Sace @Leniverse I‘ve had the Rivers of London on my shelf forever! @audraelizabeth Thanks! And my library has it available on audio! 6mo
Sace @5feet.of.fury Burn For Me recently caught my attention. Thanks! 6mo
Sace @Luke-XVX Intriguing! 6mo
wanderinglynn Ilona Andrews Kate Daniels series is one of my faves. I also love the Mercy Thompson series & the Alpha & Omega series by Patricia Briggs (1st books Moon Called/Cry Wolf), the Iron Druid series by Kevin Hearne (Hounded), Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris (Dead Until Dark), Dante Valentine series by Lilith Saintcrow (Working for the Devil), Chicagoland Vampires by Chloe Neill (Some Girls Bite) 6mo
wanderinglynn Ghost Hunters Mystery by Victoria Laurie (What‘s a Ghoul to do?), Southern Witch series by Kimberly Frost (Would Be Witch), World of the Lupe by Eileen Wilkes (Tempting Danger) - I have more (this is my favorite fantasy sub-genre). 😀 6mo
Sace @wanderinglynn the Iron Druid and the Southern Witch series sound good! Thanks! 6mo
MeganAnn Echoing all the love for the Mercy Thompson series! I‘m hoping to do a reread of that series sometime later this year. Also one of my favorites is the Hollows series by Kim Harrison (book 1 tagged). It does have some vampires but our main character Rachel is a witch and the world is filled with all kinds of magical creatures including pixies (Jenks, her pixie friend is my favorite), demons, werewolves, elves, etc… 6mo
MeganAnn Another of my favorites is The Bone Season series by Samantha Shannon. No vampires. Shannon creates such a richly detailed & unique alternate London that I find fascinating. Definitely read the author‘s revised 10th anniversary editions released last year as she went through & revised the text to make it the story she wanted to write but wasn‘t a good enough writer to pull off at 19 when it was originally published. 6mo
MeganAnn @wanderinglynn screenshotting your list so I can look for all the ones I haven‘t read yet! Urban fantasy used to be a favorite genre of mine as well and I‘ve been itching to get back into it recently. 6mo
Sace @MeganAnn thanks for the suggestions! 6mo
willaful I really enjoyed C.E. Murphy's series that begins with Heart of Stone. 6mo
wanderinglynn @MeganAnn totally agree on Kim Harrison‘s Hollows series. And I‘m adding Samantha Shannon to my TBR. 👍🏻 6mo
CoffeeK8 I‘ll second mercy Thomas and the other Ilona Andrews. But I also want to recommend K.M. Shea‘s Magiford Series 6mo
Sace @CoffeeK8 Oh it sounds really good! Thanks! 6mo
Sace @willaful Ooooo…interesting! 6mo
