I‘m posting one book a day from my massive collection. No description, no reason for why I want to read it (some I‘ve had so long I don‘t even remember why!) Feel free to join in!

A twisted, easy read that holds your interest until the end. #suspense #thriller #psychologicalthriller #girlslikeus
Really enjoyed this one! Quick read! It‘s important to note that the author was inspired by real life cases when writing this book. I would‘ve liked to know more about Nell & would like to read more books with her as the protagonist. Not sure if the author wants to write another one. There are twists that you truly don‘t see coming! Once you get through the 1st 25 pages or so, it really picks up the pace! Would make a great film.
This is somewhere between so-so and pan. It had Jeffery Epstein vibes which I didn‘t like for multiple reasons... capitalizing on a tragedy, too soon, etc. the writing was good. I‘d try another Alger book, but this one was just not for me. 🥴
“Do not read, hooman. Just pet me instead. Pleaseeeeeeee?”
Taco is feeling a little neglected because work has been so busy lately. 😅
This was...not amazing. The ending was extremely lazy and a huge let down. There were lots of long descriptions (2-3 pages each) of landscapes and stuff that didn‘t matter. 2.5 stars.
Planet Fitness is closed... so I am working out at home and blasting this audiobook! Let‘s go!!!😜
LEGO Masters has taken over our lives so we decided to bust out our LEGO collection. Started this audiobook while building! 🤩
Cristina Alger has become an auto-buy author for me. Stand-alone thrillers usually set in or touching on the world of high finance. I find her plotting to be tight and her characters well developed. I didn‘t find this one to be quite as strong as The Darlings or The Banker‘s Wife but I still thoroughly enjoyed it.
MY RATING⇢ 4 ✰STARS✰
An FBI procedural that delivers. With a smart, yet tuff female MC and an intricately complex murder mystery, the story moves along at a decent pace and even gets intense at times. I was a tad miffed with the ending, but I still thought this a worthwhile listen.

This book was OK. Fairly predictable with no big surprises. Not a terrible read though.
Last book of 2019...I squeezed in another to make my total for the year 130, which is one more than my "year in books" from #goodreads I posted earlier.
This one was "meh" for me. The plot was way too far fetched for my tastes and I didn't find it exactly riveting.

Girls Like Us, by Cristina Alger, is on every summer must-read list . . . for good reason. It's eerily timely, compelling, & emotionally rich. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

4.5 ★ I love a great crime fiction novel with a relatable strong female antagonist, a BONUS is this story addresses heavy issues straight off our front page. I was quickly absorbed into the high society scandals, human trafficking, murder, a possible serialist + the good old boy mentality of bad men that wear a badge; I devoured it in one sitting.

My view this morning. I finished my summer reading list, so now I‘m reading random books while looking for ones that fit my “summer by the sea” theme. #booksonboats
I picked up Girls Like Us pretty much because it‘s set on Long Island, and I think everyone knows by now that I particularly enjoy books set close to home. So far it‘s set on the south fork, where my in-laws have a house. I enjoy picturing the settings knowing what they actually look like & having inside info on the area. Seems like this will be a very quick read.
Good day for a blanket in the park. I read. Charlie watches the world go by. We're both better for it.
FBI Agent Nell Flynn hasn‘t been home for ten years. It‘s a place she had no desire to see again. Her mother had been brutally murdered there when she was only seven. She and her father never had a particularly close relationship. And now her father, a thirty-year homicide police officer, is killed... https://www.bluestockingreviews.com/post/girls-like-us
Girls Like Us is billed as a mystery/thriller. Nell returns back to Long Island after many years when her estranged father dies in a motorcycle accident. However, when she arrives to close out his estate and handle his ashes, there appears to be things that are not so Kosher.

Thank you NetGalley and G.P. Putnam‘s Sons for an Advanced Reader‘s Copy of this book, for an honest opinion.
I started this, then my hubby surprised me with a trip to the Smokey Mountains. I forgot my book, ugh! Just finished it. It was good. I always like a book where I am surprised at the end.
These books with similar titles seem different based on their covers. I'm fascinated by books with the same or almost the same titles. #GirlsLikeYou #AMonthofSongs
Starting the ARC I won from Goodreads Giveaway. I will probably be reading ARC's for awhile. I have quiet a few I need to get read.
This was a fun, fast-paced, quick read. The plot was solid, although a few scenes were pretty anticlimactic and the ending felt a little formulaic. It‘s a great palate cleanser or vacation read though!
