4¾⭐
This book surprised me with how much I actually liked it. Although, since it has two significant POVs it would‘ve been easier to keep them straight with a second narrator. It left me quite confused in the beginning until I got a handle on who was who. Overall, this was a wholly satisfying experience…and it was much needed one since I‘ve been in a bit of a slump lately.
A compelling, plot-driven financial thriller that kept me reading well past midnight! Loved the strong female protagonists who were central to the investigation and the story is set in the most gorgeous settings! Plus there are characters resembling real life politicians and families which I always love in my reading!! Great investigative journalism!
Holy crap. I devoured this book. Talk about a page-turning thriller. Intrigue and plot twists abound, and the momentum never lets up.
The subject matter was very timely. Involving stuff I can believe is happening right now in the world, unfortunately.
Alger definitely knows how to write.
Now to figure out what deftly-written thriller/suspense novel to read next. 🤔 Do you have a recommendation? Please share!
My plans for today.
Hope you can enjoy your Sunday (or Monday), littens.

This was predictable but still a pretty fun ride. Solid read.
It was thrilling and curiosity of what would happened next..the smart and strong wowen portayed in the book are inspiring..
A clever, tightly plotted thriller set in the worlds of high finance and investigative journalism. A perfect summer treat. 4🌟. I also enjoyed Alger‘s The Darlings so I‘m really looking forward to her new one.
I finally went to downtown Houston to one of America‘s oldest mystery bookstores, Murder by the Book. I was in love. Hoping since everything has wound down at home, I can devour some books. I bought the tagged book and Final Girls by Riley Sager (who will actually be at the store in July!)
I can‘t think of anything I didn‘t like about this book. Lots of intrigue, beautiful Geneva setting, good characters, a little suspense, and a neat twist. Solid 4 ⭐️, and recommended!
Desperately trying to fight off motion sickness so I can catch up on my reading while sitting on a train. I am always so jealous of those who can read in cars or trains.
I can‘t remember now where I got the recommendation for this book - it‘s either a #blameitonlitsy or something I saw on @bookriot . Either way, it was twisty and suspenseful. Really good! #24b4monday
I started this tonight and hope to finish it tomorrow for my first book of #24B4Monday. After that I‘ll mood read!
If you had told me a bank thriller would be one of my favorite books of the year... I would have laughed in your face.
But hot damn. This was so good. I loved the shifting narratives between the women. I loved that I was never entirely sure who to trust for the entire book besides these women. Yes, give me all the bank thrillers.
Also, this mornings snuggle. 🙄 😍 that‘s my knee.
On this mornings episode of book and snuggle we‘re reallllyyyy in each other‘s personal space. 🤣

Today‘s Prompt: Bank
THE BANKER‘S WIFE addressed high profile and powerful men and women where money was the catalyst, and as the saying goes “the root of all evil.”
Perhaps it isn‘t a good idea to be a “banker‘s wife.” :)
If you enjoy secrets, intrigue, corruption, and love, you will enjoy THE BANKER'S WIFE. 4/5

Loved it. Kept me revetited. Ended up starting it this morning. Had planned to last night, but hubby took me out. I highly recommend it.
Starting this now! Heard good things about it.
Well what can I say, this has wealthy bankers, journalists, money, corruption and plenty of intrigue. You just don‘t know who to trust and it really keeps you guessing to the very end. I genuinely couldn‘t put it down and had a couple of late nights to finish it. A really good read
This was an easy, quick read perfect for summer. However, what I liked best about this story is that unlike most thrillers where the wife, girlfriend, daughter dies, all the protagonists survive. The Wife, and the reporter (both main characters and women) solve the crime AND live.
This book was very intriguing. Lots of corruption, deceit and danger! 👍🏻
Next up!
#audiobooking #audioknitting #roadtripping We are listening to this thriller and it‘s a good one right from the beginning. It‘s always a 👍🏼 when I find a book both my husband and I like.
This is one of the best thrillers I‘ve read in a long time. It‘s reminiscent of Stieg Larsson and early John Grisham. Very page turner-y! Despite the title it not a typical domestic thriller. Pick it up and you‘ll likely be hooked from the first page.
The Bankers Wife is a tense, intricately constructed thriller with strong female protagonists from Christina Alger. Throw this one in your beach bag -- it will keep you engrossed! ⭐⭐⭐⭐ #NetGalley

This book is taking me to Crazy Town 🤓🤪 #24B4Monday

“You must understand: several people have risked their lives to get this information to you. Tell no one, trust no one. I have trusted you only because Duncan Sander asked me to, & time is of the essence. The sooner this information comes out to the public, the better. We will all be safer once it does.”
“We won‘t let you down. This is what Duncan & I do. You can trust us.”
“We have bet our lives on that.”

I really enjoyed this book. Matthew works for a Swiss bank. One day his plane crashes and his wife is told that he is died with another woman. Was her husband cheating on her. Marina is a journalist who is finally at the top in her career when she starts looking to the Swiss bank and sees that there have been some dealing that are not on the up and up. Annabel and Marina notice someone following them. Who is it? Are what do they want?

I received an advance copy. All opinions are my own.

The writing was quick and sharp, but I did feel that the characters could have been further developed and I think that Alger hides this weakness behind her clever plot. Written from both female perspectives, the characters needed to be more than they were, they simply lacked the depth needed. What I did like was that they were the perfect pairing—one was trying to uncover a secret while the other was trying to conceal information.
A fascinating and fast-paced investigative thriller complete with strong and smart women characters. Read more

My husband said this book “was really, really good.” Which is saying a lot, for him! I guess I better read it, too...
Heard this author speak at #PLA2018 , and she wants to connect with book groups and libraries! This is an ARC of her third book, to be released in July. A plane crashes in the Alps, leaving the widow of one of the passengers with more questions than answers. What‘s up with the encrypted laptop and client list? Billed as a thriller, this delves into hidden agendas in the financial world and a whole lot more:
#TBRtemptation post 8! Coming in 2018 Edition! Scheduled for a July release. The blurb does the title more justice than I could do, lol. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
