I wound up leaving knitting group last night with a book one of my friends recently finished. We often talk about books & pass them around between us. One woman drives me nuts though “I just read this book, it was great, it‘s a library book so I can‘t pass it on, but you should all read it” ok, what‘s the name/author? “I don‘t know, I read so much I can‘t keep track of that” 😂😂

cathysaid Gorgeous yarn! I'm knitting one in a similar pattern that is solid red but I like this much better. 👍 1mo
Valink @cathysaid thank you! This is yarn I got from The Rhinebeck sheep and wool festival last year. I‘ve been knitting these socks ALL year because I keep getting distracted with other projects, so I‘m excited to be almost finished! 1mo

Reading Looking for Alaska while drinking coffee from my Alaska mug. I heard this is about to be a Netflix series, so I added it to my TBR. This was actually my daughter‘s book that she was donating and I rescued to read before giving it away.

Lovesbooks87 It going to be on Hulu starting October the 18th. 2mo
MidnightBookGirl I love a book and mug pairing! ;)

Valink @Lovesbooks87 oops, yes, Hulu! I don‘t know if/when I‘ll actually watch it since all I seem to watch lately are shows about zoos, but it was a good reason to move this up the TBR list! 2mo

I was unsure about if I liked this book or not until the last 20% or so. I have to admit that I just didn‘t understand the science and couldn‘t picture some of the things that were being explained. It was the human parts of it that I liked, the connection between Nedda and all those that surrounded her, both on earth an in space.

I‘m 1/4 through this book and saw the author tweet yesterday that she would be at a library close to my job tonight. Perfect timing! I love her moon dress and kick ass red boots! Here she‘s reading a passage about the Challenger explosion. I was about the same age as the main character and remember watching with horror in school as it happened live.

I signed up for a free trial of Kindle Unlimited so I could read the Harry Potter books on vacation without having to wait for my library loan to come through (there are still wait lists all these years later!!). Are there any other good books available through this platform? I haven‘t come across any that were really on my radar yet.

I did this as an audiobook. The narration was very well done, and the plot was very timely. This is a story not just about sexual harassment, but about working moms and female friendships. I would be very surprised if this isn‘t a movie or series soon.

I picked up Girls Like Us pretty much because it‘s set on Long Island, and I think everyone knows by now that I particularly enjoy books set close to home. So far it‘s set on the south fork, where my in-laws have a house. I enjoy picturing the settings knowing what they actually look like & having inside info on the area. Seems like this will be a very quick read.

A friend of mine has inspired me to do a re-read of the Harry Potter Series. I first started reading the series when I was on maternity leave with my now 19 year old & after that I read them as they came out. We did a family listen of the first two in 2016, but other than that I haven‘t re-read the series. It‘s probably about time!

Ingrid Coleman disappeared 12 years ago, presumed drowned, but her husband Gil just saw her outside a book store. The book is told in chapters alternating between present day and letters Ingrid wrote to her husband all those years ago. Through the letters we see marriage and motherhood through her eyes. While I found the characters choices frustrating as a reader this was definitely a pick for me.

Between a pick and a so-so for me. By the end of the book I was bored and ready for it to end, but I did enjoy the story. The fictional Winthrop Island that‘s the setting for this book is based on Fisher‘s Island, which is a location my husband and I have sailed to. I enjoy connections like that so that part was a bonus for me.

Crazeedi Her books were so good at the beginning , but the last one I read before this was meh... I had hoped this one would be good. Still going to check it out 5mo

I went looking in my 18 year old daughter‘s room for a YA novel to read because I wanted something quick. I was hoping for something cute and lighthearted. This is what I emerged with. I‘m not sure if the tagged book fits exactly what I was looking for, but it‘s a re-read for me & it‘s what stood out.
