I love this author‘s podcast so why not read his book?

Fitting that I would finish this book on the day the Trump administration is trying to push out Bharara‘s predecessor. This book is an interesting look at aspects of being a prosecutor, though he clearly has some blind spots. It‘s definitely worth the read, but I suggest print not audio. Unfortunately he‘s not the best narrator.

With some necessary swearing toward the end of the build, I have completed my model bookstore! I would thank Preet Bharara for reading to me while I finished, but this is an example of an audiobook that really shouldn‘t have been read by the author. 😜 I suspect it‘s quite good in print, though.

Lesanne Great job! 4y

Librarybelle That is incredible! 4y
Deblovestoread That is awesome! I have seen similar models and would love to try one but I imagine all the pieces are tiny. 4y
Tamra Adorable! 4y
Amiable So cool! 4y
Smarkies What is the size of this model? I have awfully clunky fingers so admire anyone who does model building. 😁 4y
Hooked_on_books @Kdgordon88 The pieces are tiny for sure! Some of them require tweezers for placement. @Smarkies It‘s about 6x8x7 inches in size. It takes patience, which I don‘t always have! 😆 4y
wanderinglynn 😍😍😍 love it! 4y
Megabooks Wow!! That is so incredible!! 💜💜💜 4y
LeahBergen I love it! 😮 4y
Eggbeater This is fantastic! 4y
Amiable What kit is this? I‘m intrigued! 4y
britt_brooke How cute!! 4y
Hooked_on_books @Amiable I found it on amazon. If you search model bookstore, you‘ll find it. But watch out—they tend to send it with Chinese instructions. It‘s easily remedied. You just email them and they send the English instructions, which I found much easier to follow. 😆 4y
Flaneurette This is so amazing and makes me so nostalgic for bookstores! 4y
PaperbackPirate That‘s so cool! 😍 4y
vivastory I can't believe I missed this post! This is fanf*ing-tastic! 4y
Hooked_on_books @vivastory Thank you! I‘m completely delighted by how it came out. 4y

Truly enjoyed this memoir about Bharara‘s time as a federal prosecutor and what justice means to him. He is so thoughtful in sharing the thought process behind his own actions and the consequences they had and detailing some cases that stood out to him.
I loved the way he finished the book with a story about forgiveness and the hope and wisdom that people can have and the strength and spirit we bring to the practice of law.

I really enjoyed listening to the author narrate this book - i think it made his stories more real. As a lawyer, i always love learning how others approach the job. I feel like Bharara was very thoughtful about how to do justice, and i appreciated that. I highly recommend this book for lawyers and those interested in our justice system.

Preet Bharara and my husband are proud members of the same fraternity former prosecutors a fraternity you enter the first day you walk into court as a prosecutor. They are a group of smart talented hardworking trial attorneys my husband loved prosecuting just as Preet did my husband left on his own prerogative Preet was fired by Trump a badge he should be proud of.

Doing Justice has given me a deeper understanding of the whole process of justice in our country. Bharara is thoughtful, intelligent, and incredibly well-educated. Listening to this book is a legal education. He also narrates the audiobook so the experience is quite immersive. Nice way to spend a spring afternoon.

This book is just brilliant. So much more than I even expected. Great stories and thoughtful insights into the justice system and research and even how to get people to open up. I listen to Preet‘s podcasts “Stay Tuned” and “Insider” and love his wit and intellect.

This is the part I missed while I wasn‘t subscribed to #BOTM. The mad tracking of my box. Where and when? How far afield will it go? Will I sneak it into the house or just own it with Mr. B? 📚👊🏻📚👊🏻📚👊🏻📚👊🏻📚👊🏻📚👊🏻📚

This is an overview of crime, punishment and the rule of law by the former US Attorney for SDNY. The book interwove Preet‘s thoughts and facts about the law with specific cases that he or his office dealt with. I learned a lot while reading this book about the law and it‘s very wonky. I think anyone would be interested in his thoughts on the law. Just be warned this is not a mentor. I was provided the book by the publisher for an honest review

I am so excited I got this ARC but just realized it comes out in 19 days so I better start reading it today. I love Preet‘s podcast and the times he has appeared on Pod Save America. He has so much knowledge so I know I will learn a lot from this book.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I bet this one will be good! 5y
8little_paws Very interested to hear more! I hadn't heard of this book till now. 5y

I love Preet Bharara and can‘t wait to read this. He‘s always so thoughtful with his analysis of the judicial process and what‘s happening in today‘s political climate. Although I do find his voice very soothing on his podcast so I may do the audiobook. 😀

Yeah_I_Read I love him on CNN. I feel like his analysis and commentary are always measured and well thought out. And I like his voice... and he has nice eyes...🤷🏽‍♀️ 😂😂 5y
LauraBeth @Yeah_I_Read measured is the perfect word to describe him. I‘m completely smitten with his eyes and voice 😂 5y
Suet624 I love him too. I think he has a podcast too. 5y
LauraBeth @Suet624 I LOVE his podcast. But his voice soothes me to sleep. 😂 5y
