I managed to read a lot of great comics last month, but my top three were definitely:
1) Delilah Dirk and the Kings Shilling by Tony Cliff
2) Giant Days by Allison, Cogar, and Treiman
3) My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness by Kabi Nagata
Over the month I read 20 comics and 3 novels:
5 - were written by women
11 - had female protagonists
2 - were from indie or small press publishers
Delilah Dirk is a kick-ass protagonist who I am absolutely in love with and I NEED IN MY LIFE RIGHT NOW WHY DO I NOT HAVE MONEY FOR THIS SERIES ARGH!
Its the characters. And the humour. and those goddamn facial expressions! Those little moments and grand fights. Its story beats hit me right in the heart. I might be over-hyping it right now, but I'm so infatuated with this world.
Recommended. Read it. Now. Oh my god. So in love!

Again. Why is this book not more popular???!!!
The faces in this book are amazing! I love the expressions Tony Cliff is able to craft. Why isn't his comic more popular?
These are absolutely delightful and the colors are amazing.
Just as much (if not more) fun as the first one. I'd say this one was stronger plot wise as well. Delilah & Selim make for great heroes. If you've not had chance to see one in person. Do so. The artwork is gorgeous! #comicsfebruary book 2
Christmas book # 4
Cause he remembered I said it looked interesting that one time we were browsing the graphic novels. 😊
I really enjoyed this one. Compared to the first one the characters were more fleshed out and the adventure itself was quite entertaining. I hope there will be a third volume soon. I like that Delilah isn't the infallable aloof hero and that she can have a male sidekick without the so often inevitable love story.
Some ganmacha green tea and Delilah Dirk before work.
Reader's happiness: when you can immediately read on from a great volume 1 to a hopefully even better volume 2 (which has more pages, too).
Delilah Dirk is the feminist superhero you've been looking for. And get this--she can have a MALE friend, with no lingering sexual tension & romantic entanglements--kinda like real life women can!
Was meh on the first one but really enjoyed this one. Lots of adventure but a complexity to Delilah that wasn't there before. Looking forward to more from this series.
This one had a better plot than the first. I look forward to a book 3 and possible reappearance of Major Jason Merrick.

Bon Bon seems to think, "Mommy, if you're reading, where are @gibblr and Rachel?"
We are sad that our #24in48 #readathon sleepover came to an end. But we had fun during, right Bon?
#readathonstats (thus far). I have an hour and a half to go and I plan on reading two more books: Delilah Dirk and the King's Shilling and Jerusalem. #readathon #24in48
Spending the afternoon and evening with a stack of graphic novels (more in the bedroom). Tis not a bad way to go!
A Eurasian-set comic aperitif between Roadside Picnic and Solaris. I think I've finally found my comic book counterpart in Lieutenant Erdemoglu Selim.
Thoroughly enjoyed this swashbuckling heroine and her sardonic, thoughtful companion. Hilarious, thrilling, and a creative role reversal
