so-soI decided to give this historical fiction set in #Paraguay a listen although it didn‘t have great reviews. Ella is living in France when she becomes involved with Francisco and goes to Paraguay as his mistress. They stay together as he becomes dictator and embroils his country in a devastating war. I never became invested in the characters or events, although I thought there was great potential for a fascinating story.
