Stolen Things
Stolen Things | Stephen Parolini
8 posts | 1 read | 5 to read
A storybook forest. A friendly neighborhood cat. An ancient garage stuffed with history and mystery. Moving with her dad to her aunt's hill house in Maine holds the promise of a compelling adventure for 12-year-old Raspberry Lynette Granby, except for one heartbreaking truth: her dad is dying of cancer. When the weight of her circumstance becomes too great, Berry escapes into the forest, only to find herself caught between wanting to forget, and hoping for a miracle.

#two4tuesday

1. It depends on the book. I guess generally I prefer a faster moving plot. But there‘s something to be said for a slow burn if it‘s done well.

2. Tagged! I was sucked into the world of Raspberry Lynette Granby & finished it in one sitting.

Thanks for the tag Lisa! 🥰

#30junebooks Still trying to catch up.

This is an #underrated book. It only has 177 ratings on GR. It was one of my 5 ⭐️ in 2016. I found it magical, heartbreaking, touching, terrifying. I started the book & couldn't put it down.

#MayMadness #recommendsday

I‘m a bit behind on “new to me” authors. So I looked on GR at books I read & liked, but the book has less than 1000 reviews (compared to HP which has 5+ million). 😀

* Stephen Parolini
* Clay Griffith & Susan Griffith
* Dominique Forthier
* Michelle Bardsley
* Linda Poitevin/Lydia Hawke (her pen name for some series)
* Keri Arthur
* Nikki Giovanni
* Leslie Budewitz
* Margaret & Lisa Weis
* Patrick McDonnell

Congrats @BarbaraBB on your milestone! 🎉👏🏻🎉👏🏻

And thanks for the opportunity to enter your #spotlightgiveaway 😀

I couldn‘t pick just one! I‘d highlight: (1) all of Robin Hobb‘s works because she is an amazing epic fantasy author.
(2) Stolen Things by Stephen Parolini. I learned about this book from The Bloggess (aka Jenny Lawson) and absolutely loved it. It‘s magical, heartbreaking, touching, terrifying.

BarbaraBB Thank you for entering. The tagged book sounds awesome!! 6y
